Fantastic 5.0
This is a very clean and tidy hotel, located about an 8-minute walk from Beppu Station. If you're driving, the hotel will recommend a parking lot about a 2-minute walk away, which costs 2000 yen for an overnight stay. So, it's most cost-effective if you park your car and don't use it again until you check out. The room is spacious, and the double bed is at least six feet wide, with a comfortable firmness. The pillows are also very comfortable. The separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom are excellent! The large public hot spring bath is very relaxing!

Fantastic 5.0
This is a very comfortable hot spring hotel. You take off your shoes when you enter. On the first floor, there's a beverage and coffee machine for guests to use freely. From 10 PM to 11 PM, there's a complimentary late-night snack. There's a public bath and seven unique Beppu-style private hot springs. After a soak, a massage helps you sleep wonderfully. Staying for two nights or more allows you to slowly enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.

Fantastic 5.0
I booked a room at Soragwan, and it was clean with a great view. Dinner had a diverse and satisfying menu, and breakfast was delicious. My skin felt smooth after the hot spring bath; the water must have been excellent.

Great 4.0
This is a budget-friendly accommodation! There was a strong odor when the air conditioner was on, but it was fine after I turned it up high and left for about an hour. It's perfectly adequate for just sleeping, and it has everything you need.

Fantastic 5.0
the location is private , next to the beach and the park. we love our room which is huge and perfect layout, include inroom private onsen facing the sea . The view is so peaceful. Breakfast buffet were incredibly awesome with variety and quality. staff service were wonderful with limitation of language , however we able to manage with translator.

Great 4.0
We did find some bugs around our hotel room similarly to what is shared by other customers on google reviews. theres ample parking, and it cost 800 yen to park for 1 night. Just opposite a mall, and there’s also a good tempura place nearby the hotel. The hotel breakfast was okay but the space was small and gets crowded in the morning. Will recommend if you are here just for 1/2 nights.

More about Beppu hotels

What staying in Beppu feels like

Beppu shows a noticeable spread between the most affordable and the most premium rooms — roughly four times from bottom to top — so you can pick anything from budget basics to high-end comfort depending on how much you want to spend. The best balance for value-conscious travellers tends to be the premium tier, which often delivers the strongest mix of comfort and price.

How the hotel classes compare and who they suit

Economy options sit at the lowest end of the scale and suit travellers prioritising cost over extras. Standard rooms are a step up in comfort from economy but remain firmly budget-minded, appealing to practical travellers. Premium is the sweet spot and represents the best value tier; it’s noticeably pricier than standard but still well below the top end and suits those wanting good comfort without stretching to luxury. The biggest price jump is from premium to luxury, where costs rise substantially, making luxury the choice for travellers after a distinctly higher-end stay.

When travellers from Australia tend to book

Rates are highest in February and lowest in June, and the cheapest period is the best fit for a budget-led trip. Typical bookings are made around 46 days in advance (with some travellers locking in even earlier), so if you prefer certainty plan at least a month and a half ahead; there’s still some flexibility for last-minute trips but availability tightens closer in.
