Siaogang District

The best time to visit Siaogang District is from November to March, when Kaohsiung is generally drier and more comfortable for harbor viewpoints and outdoor walks. Summer can be very hot, so plan outdoor stops in the morning or late afternoon.

Fly into Kaohsiung International Airport, which is located in Siaogang District, or take the Kaohsiung MRT Red Line to Siaogang Station or Kaohsiung International Airport Station. From THSR Zuoying Station, transfer to the MRT Red Line southbound.

The MRT is the easiest way to connect Siaogang with central Kaohsiung, while taxis are useful for Hongmaogang Cultural Park and airport hotels. Check shuttle or bus options for Hongmaogang in advance because service frequency can be limited.

Stay near Kaohsiung International Airport for early flights or late arrivals, or near Sanduo Shopping District and Central Park for better city access. Yancheng and Pier-2 are better for sightseeing, nightlife, and harbor attractions.
