Things to do in Kaohsiung

I had great experience visiting Alishan National Forest Recreation Area through a Klook joiner’s tour led by Eric Lin, an excellent English-speaking tour guide who handled a group of nearly 40 guests with ease and professionalism. He shared Alishan’s rich history and culture throughout the scenic trails, making the trip enjoyable even for seniors. Mr. Lin knows exactly where and when to take beautiful, Instagram-worthy photos, and he also provided Klook badges with a printed Alishan map. What impressed me most was his tour-guide strategy of stopping at specific points along the trail to share key facts and carefully check attendance before moving forward—ensuring no one was ever left behind. Complimentary sweet bread and bottled water were also provided, and all logistics such as tickets, meals, and restroom breaks were stress-free. The optional lunch pack (NTD 120) was healthy, hearty, and delicious. Overall, the experience was fun, relaxed, and truly professional. Highly recommended!

The transportation is convenient, with many buses picking up and dropping off from different MRT stations and areas. I went from Zuoying, and it also passed by several E-Da affiliated hotels along the way. To enter E-Da World, you need to go through the outlet and up the floors. There are signs in the mall, so don't worry about getting lost. You can exchange your tickets at the ticket office with the QR Code, which is very convenient. There are many different kinds of amusement facilities inside, including thrilling roller coasters and 360-degree rotating facilities. There is also a building dedicated to amusement facilities for children, as well as claw machines and gashapon machines. There are both outdoor and indoor facilities. There are also parades on the weekends, and the performances are quite fun. There are not many restaurants, but the food is acceptable. The main thing is that there are not too many people, so you can play without much queuing, which is great.

Shoushan Zoo is so beautiful after the renovation! The flow of the route is well planned, making it comfortable to walk around. The main thing is that you can see many cute animals, especially the capybara area, which is very healing. Buy your tickets online in advance, and it's super convenient to scan the code directly at the entrance, saving you queuing time. It is very suitable for families or friends to come for a walk and take pictures. Highly recommended!

The facilities are nice since it just opened, but there are a lot of people during winter vacation, and you have to wait in line for every experience area. The signs for the flow of traffic are a bit unclear. If you go in the afternoon, you won't be able to see everything. I recommend entering the park in the morning to have plenty of time to experience everything.

This museum beautifully illustrates how Taiwan has developed into a hub for science and technology, providing a great perspective on its history and future. Some of the installations are quite interactive and enjoyable.

Such a lovely afternoon! great for the family who were visiting. we had afternoon tea at the top and got to enjoy the views as well as look around the old consulate and the temple next door! highly recommend !

Super value Playhouse, the kids definitely won't want to leave! Weekday admission allows you to play from morning till night, and you can leave midway. The play area is clean, and the most special thing is the sandbox, which actually uses real sand. We bought the afternoon tea play package, which includes admission for one adult and one child, plus a serving of chicken cake and a cup of black tea. The chicken cake is served hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Today in Kaohsiung, I experienced the RIDE flying theater, and it's the real 5D immersive kind! It felt like I was being taken into the sky and flying around; it's way more exciting than flying in an airplane (ﾉ>ω<)ﾉ✨ Not only are the visuals super stunning, but the wind, smells, water mist, the temperature of explosions, the seat diving, all come together! There were a few scenes where I really thought I was going to fall, especially when rushing into the explosion, there's heat, and when entering the giant's mouth, there's even water mist sprayed～ It's so! incredibly! real! I couldn't help but scream 🤣 Flying over towns, rushing through seas of clouds, and passing through scenes between giants is spectacular, with a 360-degree wraparound immersive experience. It feels like soaring in the sky, more thrilling than a roller coaster but without being uncomfortable. It's the kind of exhilarating feeling that makes your body automatically grip the handrails (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧ It's super great that parking is easy for both cars and motorcycles here! My suggestions are: 1️⃣ Don't go on a full stomach, since the shaking is quite significant, 2️⃣ Wear closed-toe shoes, not shoes that easily fall off, 3️⃣ If you're prone to motion sickness, try to sit in the middle for less swaying🤣 Locals get discounts when buying tickets on-site, but the theater I bought tickets for didn't offer discounts. I recommend buying through other platforms for potential discounts 🥲 However, as a tech person, if you like the show, the price is acceptable because the experience is really great. The only drawback is that 15 minutes feels too short 🥺
