Are you travelling to/from one of the airports in Melbourne?
Well, one thing everyone is very aware of is HOW EXPENSIVE it can be to transfer, especially when you cannot rely on a mate to drop you off or pick you up. Also, let’s not mention how poorly connected the airports can be at times. The base Uber fare from Tullamarine Airport to the city varies from $45 to $58, but you're at high risk of surge pricing. A cab normally costs around $80! Luckily Melbourne has a few more options than Sydney so it’s easier to find the right mode of transport for you.
We’ve crunched the numbers and come up with a few of the alternatives below.

    1. Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine): MEL

    1.1. SkyBus - from $15 one way

The SkyBus is probably the most reliable and comfortable way to get to/from the airport if you’re not needing to travel far from the CBD. The buses have air-con, free WiFi and are very modern and new.

1.2. Private Airport Transfer - from $45 one way

If you're wanting to make lots of business calls during your transfer or just need privacy after a long plane ride, you can also settle for the private option for a bit more dough. Car sizes range from sedans to full-size vans that accommodate 11 passengers.

    2. Avalon Airport: AVV

    2.1. SkyBus - from $24 one-way

Luckily there is also a SkyBus service from that airport in the middle of nowhere to the CBD, so you need not worry! Sit back and relax in this shuttle bus transfer from the Avalon airport to Melbourne City, and vice versa.
