Reviews summaryI didn’t want to waste wearing the kimonos, so I opted to get a photographer so we could get nice pictures! I definitely did not regret since we got so many nice photos (60+ in total in fact)! After we changed into our kimonos, the photographer led us to 3 different locations to take the photos. He was also really good in directing; he told us where to stand and how to pose so we would look great! After the shoot, he sent us an email to confirm the address and we received a Google Drive with all the photos 2 days after. I would consider doing the 1-hour shoot next time to get more photos, but 30-minute shoot was already great to get 60+ photos already. Highly recommended so you could keep memories of your kimono rental experience!
Our family of five went to this store in the morning to rent kimonos, and the ladies added Japanese makeup services. We booked online in advance and also used the photography service. The staff also knew how to speak Chinese! The staff were very kind and friendly, and they also gave us suggestions on how to match the whole kimono. Lace kimonos are their creation, and the styles are very special. My mother and I chose new styles. Wearing pink made us look very youthful. The black one showed the red fabric underneath in the sunlight, which was very elegant and beautiful! The weather was cold that day, and the staff lent us different styles of shawls, which was very thoughtful. The photographer also spoke Chinese. He met us at the store that day and took us to Senso-ji Temple to take pictures. He carefully taught us how to pose and took beautiful pictures! In just one hour, we took family photos, couple photos, and individual photos. It was a very pleasant morning. Highly recommended, a very good experience activity!
Strolling through Asakusa in Tokyo, time seems to slow down. This is where the modern, bustling city meets traditional Japanese culture most closely. And there's no better way to experience Asakusa than by donning an exquisite kimono. **The Starting Point for a Journey Through Time** Stepping out of the kimono rental shop today, the crisp "clack, clack" of wooden geta sandals announces the official beginning of Asakusa's classical romance. **Kaminarimon and Nakamise-dori: Through the Thunder Gate and Along the Bustling Path** Passing through the giant red lantern, you walk along the lively approach to the temple. Dressed in a colorful kimono with elegant patterns, holding a freshly baked ningyo-yaki, you'll find yourself effortlessly blending into this ukiyo-e scene, rich with Edo-period charm. **The Lingering Incense of Senso-ji Temple** Standing before the main hall, you join the crowd in wafting the fragrant smoke over yourself, praying for peace. At this moment, the wide sleeves of your kimono gently flutter in the breeze, creating a beautiful contrast with the surrounding vermilion carvings and painted structures. Every snapshot is a stunning view. A gentle breeze blows, smoothing the delicate folds of the kimono. Here, a kimono is more than just clothing; it's a passport to an immersive experience of traditional Japanese aesthetics. I want to use this elegant posture to create a warm and memorable time in Asakusa. **Location: Asakusa**
It was my husband’s first time in Japan, so I wanted us to experience this together! The owner spoke fluent English (and Chinese) so it was extremely easy to communicate. He also had our booking ready, I just had to give the registered name and he had our record pulled up! Since we picked the basic package, we could only choose from the cheapest kimonos, but they were already so cute! The kimonos came with obis (belt), traditional sandals, and bags for us to use. The package also had hairstyling included, so I felt like a local housewife in the olden times with how I looked in the end~ The staff were very professional and helped us dress up (there was a separate area for men and women). There were even lockers where we could keep our things. Walking in the sandals was surprisingly difficult, but overall, we had a lot of fun! Will definitely try this again the next time we visit Japan, but will choose the lace kimono for a more elegant look!
They have a great selection of outfits to choose from! You get to pick everything yourself, including the outerwear, waist accessories, and even the shoes. They have both men's and women's clothing. The staff is very attentive in explaining and giving recommendations. The stylists are patient in helping us dress and style our hair. I really love the hairstyle they created; it looks amazing...❤️ They'll also create a suitable hairstyle and accessories based on your hair type. (You can also choose your own hair accessories!) Even with other customers there, it didn't affect our experience, and it's definitely worth revisiting! The store is easy to find, and the more affordable packages are a great value! The entire space is clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this place. If you're interested, you should definitely check them out! It was a fantastic experience, and I'm super satisfied.
The staff is incredibly friendly. I was worried about being late because I overslept and thought my reservation might be canceled. However, I simply sent them a message on LINE, and they responded very quickly, assuring me it was no problem. The staff helps you choose a kimono that suits your skin tone and personal style, and the coordination is excellent. Although the photography service is a bit pricey, it's definitely worth it. The photographer is fantastic and knows how to guide you into natural and elegant poses. The shop is clean, and the decor is comfortable. If you're visiting Asakusa, you absolutely must come to this kimono shop! The provided socks are disposable and very hygienic. The entire process is foreigner-friendly, with no hidden extra charges. The waist cords are free! Paper umbrellas are also available to borrow at no cost.
I’ve worn kimono before, but this experience really stood out. The staff were incredibly careful and detail-oriented, making sure the kimono looked neat and beautiful (very important!). The hairstyling was also amazing~ Everyone was so friendly and gentle, and they gave great advice on both the kimono and hairstyle.
Dressed in Japan’s traditional costume on the first day of the year with kimonomiyabi. This was my third time renting a kimono, and it was the best experience so far. They have a large selection of kimonos and many beautiful hairstyles to choose from. I also topped up for their makeup and photography services, which were well worth it. Even though the store was very packed and hectic due to the New Year rush, all the staff were extremely patient, professional, and attentive, making sure that every customer left the shop feeling happy and satisfied. Truly appreciated their dedication and service. Highly recommended! 🫶🏻
It was wonderful to be able to choose and wear a kimono myself, something I rarely get to do. When I was unsure about combinations, the staff kindly helped me with the coordination, which was a great help. The conversation during the dressing process was also enjoyable, and I appreciated how quickly it was done. I was so happy to have such a lovely, out-of-the-ordinary experience! I'd love to wear a kimono or yukata again.
Came here for a solo trip and specifically chose a kimono shop with photography services. After a long time choosing, I picked this Yaa. They have hairstyling, makeup, photography, and rickshaws. Booking a rickshaw at the shop also gives you an extra five minutes, which is a great deal. The pricing also doesn't have hidden fees where you have to pay extra for other accessories. It looks expensive at first glance, but it's actually very cost-effective! (I went to another shop before that claimed to be cheap, but everything from the hairstyle to the waist cord, waistband, and style had extra charges, which was a terrible experience.) They have Chinese service, especially the photographer who is very good at guiding you. Thank you for letting me leave with wonderful memories.
