Tokyo Kimono Rental Experience (Asakusa Aiwafuku Main Store)

The kimono rental is very clean and organize, they make me pick kimono,belt and accessories. They try to talk to me by sign language because I don't speak Japanese and they don't speak English but they are great at what they do, 1 person did my hair, after that I got pass on another lady to put on my kimono. thank you for letting me experience the Japanese outfit.

We made an appointment at 9am in the morning. There were Chinese people in the store who could understand Chinese. Under the guidance of the store clerk, I changed my clothes and chose lace. I realized that I had to wear so many layers of clothes. It was very hot. The store clerk told me to choose a color in sign language. I said I wanted blue. She took a sapphire blue and said in sign language that it might not match my clothes. So I chose pink under her suggestion. During the hair braiding process, I heard the store clerk say "I'm kneeling down~" because my hair is thick and long, which makes it more difficult to braid my hair. Her attitude was very good. Even if I didn't understand the words, I could communicate through yes and no. With sign language, she also explained in advance that I needed to use hairspray and curling irons. Did you agree? But I came with my boyfriend. He didn't experience kimono. There was no place to sit or wait in the store. He accidentally broke in and caused a little trouble. In addition to the colorful parts, linings, straps, and towels, there are several layers~~ It also includes hair design. I had to choose a hairstyle, a small bag, and mysterious socks and clogs. I wore them for children~ The store clerk said that the heels should protrude a little to be safer. After wearing them, I felt sore in the waist and stamina. Halfway through wearing clogs, it was really hard. I can't go shopping for a long time. I go to put on clothes at 9 o'clock in the morning and my feet are almost fried ~

Staff are very friendly. There were alot of options and sizes to choose from. Hair styling service also included. You also get a little handbag and traditional shoes. It was less than a 10 minute walk from the main temple.

The proprietress and the service staff are both Taiwanese. They don’t speak Japanese and it’s very convenient. When I went there in February, I felt that there were a few lace styles and slippers (not sure now), but they look very good together (˶‾᷄ ⁻̫ ‾᷅˵ ) was even praised by passers-by and asked if they could take photos! The makeup and hair teacher is a Japanese grandmother. She is very kind. She will pick pictures and jewelry directly for customers, so there is no communication problem. Overall, it is highly recommended. It is not expensive and looks good. After dressing up, the store will also send a photo (yes Paper, similar in size to a postcard) However, I still don’t recommend wearing it in winter because it’s really cold on the road🥶🥶 ps. Lace and special bag styles will cost extra, and there are very few men’s styles.

The staff were so kind, and there were so many pretty clothes, hair ornaments and bags without an extra charge! They picked out clothes together, helped me get dressed, the staff made me feel very comfortable, and sometimes even spoke Korean fluently. It was so kawaii haha I did. If we were to rent it again, I think we would rent it here again.
