What to expect
This workshop offers an immersive introduction to Raden, a traditional Japanese decorative art. Participants will learn to create shimmering patterns using thin pieces of real mother-of-pearl, like abalone or turban shell. The operator provides genuine shell sheets sourced from Japan and guides guests through hands-on traditional techniques, including cutting shell pieces by hand. Instead of lacquer, UV resin and black acrylic paint are used, ensuring all three original pieces—a modern Raden wine glass, tumbler, and wine marker—are finished and ready to take home on the day. Beyond crafting, attendees will delve into Raden's history, meaning, and philosophy, discovering how this art reflects hidden beauty and the power of connection

Good to know
No prior experience is required; please arrive 5 minutes before the workshop, and on Sundays, the operator will meet you at the main entrance as the building entrance is locked
