What to expect

The sky holds indescribable marvels in this day tour that takes you out of the metropolis in Perth and out to Pinnacle Desert. There, away from the concrete jungle, light pollution, and noise, you can relax and enjoy a stargazing experience unlike any other. Travel north out of Perth and make your first stop at Yanchep National Park. After some rest and comfort here, you can visit the kangaroos and cuddle some of the koalas. It's a great refresher from city life before fully immersing one's self in nature, as your next stop is at Pinnacle Desert itself. Here you can study some of the mystical limestone rocks, consider their origins, and prepare for the dazzling sunset. This desert becomes even more otherworldly during sunset, as the long shadows are cast over the moon-like surface, and the sky is painted an array of colors from the setting sun. As darkness falls, you head for Cervantes, a local fishing town, where you can enjoy some dinner before heading back out to the desert to go stargazing. With no light pollution and far away from the city's tangle, the sky is even more immense and full of the stars with an unhindered view. The Observation Deck is a great place to try spotting some constellations or identifying stars, but you can also simply relax and soak up the glory of the night sky. It's a wonderful memory to take back with you as you head back to Perth to end your expedition.
