How can I book Taiwan train tickets?

  1. You can book trains departing within the next 3 months. Trains departing within 2 days aren’t available, so make sure to book at least 3 days in advance. This covers regularly scheduled Tze-Chiang trains across the Taiwan Railway network, including Push-Pull Tze-Chiang, Taroko Express, Puyuma Express, EMU3000 and DR3100. Chartered, real-name registered or group trains aren’t included. EMU3000 Business Class (Teng Yun Cabin) isn’t available.

  2. Each one-way trip must be at least 150 km based on Taiwan Railway’s operating distance. Trips with shorter distance arn't bookable. Eligibility is subject to Taiwan Railway’s booking system.

  3. Taiwan Railway assigns seats automatically. You can’t reserve specific seats or carriages, and we can’t guarantee that travelers will sit together.

  4. Book at least 1 add-on per adult ticket. Amount of add-ons must mach the passenger count.

  5. You can book for up to 9 travelers at a time.
