Things to do in Okochi Sanso Garden

Ttai Sei was a wonderful guide and took great photos for us, and the lunch was excellent. In short, highly recommended.

> Absolutely wonderful experience with Marie! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Marie was amazing from beginning to end — warm, friendly, patient, and genuinely caring. She made the entire day feel relaxed, enjoyable, and very personal. She explained everything in an interesting and easy-to-understand way, answered all my questions with a smile, and was always attentive to what I wanted to see and experience. What I appreciated most was Marie’s personal approach. It didn’t feel like a regular guided tour — it felt like exploring Kyoto with a knowledgeable local friend. Thank you, Marie, for your kindness, great energy, professionalism, and for making my day in Kyoto so memorable. I truly enjoyed every moment and highly recommend her! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A peaceful and entertaining boat ride through the river. I felt safe 100% of the time and the boatmen were funny and entertaining. safety: 100% - everyone wears life vests experience: scenic view of beautiful nature, lush green forests everywhere (would be amazing during Sakura season and later in October/November when the trees change colors) with some fast moments on the river instructor: proficient in English, absolute charming and knowledgeable about the area. also: super funny - everyone was laughing location:the ride ends near entrance of Arashiama Bamboo forest

The amusement park is not very big, but it has many different ride zones. The haunted house is very scary, and the parade is amazing—I came here just for this. Everything is totally worth it. Inside, there are plenty of restaurants, cafés, shops, and activities, so you can easily spend the whole day here. Don't forget to catch the evening Hundred Demons parade and the stage show.

we were able to find this shop fairly easily with an A-frame sign at the entrance. The area is a shared space with a few other craft workshops as well. There’s a restroom you can use once you are up the stairs. Elvie was our instructor. She gave very good instructions and demonstrations as well as helped with some finishing touches to our chopsticks. They have several types of wood you can upgrade to ranging from 4000 to 8000 yen. There are 3 types that we got to choose from that were already included with the price. I chose the Taiwan Cypress and my brother chose Hinoki. We opted for the optional laser engraving for an additional 1000 yen and it was well worth it! Such a great experience! a lovely souvenir to take back home. I will for sure be using them!

Walking from JR Saga-Arashiyama Station, we were lucky that the weather in April wasn't too hot. There was a pleasant breeze the whole way, which was very comfortable. The onsen was hosted by two people, one man and one woman. Although I don't speak Japanese, I understood what they were saying, so communication was not a problem.

One of the best things we did on our trip!! Everything is provided which is amazing and the staff are very friendly and helpful! The route is beautiful and the rapids are not so extreme. If you're thinking about booking, I would highly highly reccommend it!!
