A highlight of our Japan trip. I booked the two hour tour for myself, my parter and my parents (who were all pretty skeptical about the whole experience) but everyone had the best time. Our two guides were fantastic at explaining different Japanese customs and history of certain temples. They took heaps of photos (Using my camera and one of our IPhones) and it was one of the only chances we got to take group photos of all of us. If you’re looking for a way to see lots of different things in the Arashiyama area in a short amount of time. This is definitely the best way to do it. Thank you so much for having us!
absolutely blown away, we loved it. beautiful scenery, fantastic knowledge , our guide was an absolute legend,we extended our tour and did the temple as well, he was amazing with the kids and showed us Arashiyama like no other. absolutely recommend
The itinerary was very fulfilling, and Hajime, our driver, even provided commentary while driving, which was amazing! The staff's foreign language skills were good enough for communication; English was not a problem! Their photography skills were also excellent! The staff will have maps of the attractions, and you can directly tell them which areas you'd like to focus on (e.g., less crowded mountain areas or the city). You can also discuss extending the time (extensions can be paid for by card). While it might seem expensive at first glance, after completing this tour, you'll find it to be incredibly good value!
Hugmin was incredible! She did an amazing job making the ride comfortable, taking photos, talking and teaching us about Japan! I was so impressed how strong she is! It's nice that they hold your name up for you to know exactly where to go. This was such a fun experience! We were able to see a lot and it was nice to rest our feet. We extended our ride because 30 minutes goes by too fast! I'm glad we did because we were able to visit a shrine and see where two enemy samurai are buried. I highly recommend this experience! Go for more time you wont regret it!!
Great, affordable way to visit many temples in the one day. You can depart from kyoto or osaka and on the tour, you'll receive information from a guide on the bus overviews where you're going next, but then you're free to explore. Perfect way to see the main sites without having to so many trains all over the city. The guide kindly provided the option to eat at a restaurant as a group and most meals were 2000 yen each, or more for fancier options like beef. This worked well as we paid him on the bus & the food was delicious, pre - ordered and brought out on our arrival, saving time to focus on touring the temples. Very efficient & so much food I didnt eat it all. Highly recommend this tour.
This was one of my highlights for my trip to Kyoto! We had Yuta as our Rickshaw tour guide. Spoke perfect English, friendly and a pretty good photographer as well! He knew a lot about the areas he took us around and had a great sense of humour. This was also the best way to see the bamboo forest and the quieter parts of Arashiyama. Highly recommend doing this if you're in the Arashiyama Bamboo area! Also just to add, he was super safe with traffic and crowded areas, not once did we ever feel like we were going to tip off or go rolling down a hill uncontrollably lol!
Our guide Saku was a very communicafive and easy to talk to. Having knowledge of Arashiyama area like a back of his hand, in addition to take fantastic pictures as well. Will recommend this tour (make sure to take at least 70 minutes)
Loved this ride so much! The fresh air and the private way made the whole ride another experience in comparison to walking through the forest with alot of people (if you are not an early bird and wakes up at 5 to see the bamboo forest). The guide, Shuji, was so kind in addition to the great pictures he took of me. I highly and strongly recommend this activity anytime of the year, but especially on a hot summer day. A great start for the day's advetures before continuing with Segano Romantic train ride and Hozugawa boat ride. 10/10!!!
I booked a rickshaw experience for my trip with my aunt, and I'm so glad we did it! Taka-chan was our guide, and I was really touched by how hard he tried to explain things in Korean! We originally booked the 30-minute course, but extending it to 60 minutes was a great decision! I think 30 minutes would have been too short. He took so many great photos for us during the 60 minutes, and I'm so grateful. ❤️ I'll definitely do the rickshaw experience again on my next trip to Kyoto! Highly recommend! ❤️❤️
our rider was amazing. very funny’s friendly. and accommodating. he was also an amazing photographer and captured great moments four us. TWO THUMBS UP FOR YUYA
