Leshan Giant Buddha tours

The overall experience was enjoyable. Lunch was provided and the food quality was good too. I had a good time exploring Leshan and visiting Huanglongxi, the ancient water town. I only wish we had more time to explore Huanglongxi, it has many well preserved old buildings, absoluyelu love the place.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A perfect day trip to Leshan! This itinerary was an excellent experience. The first stop, the Ten Thousand Buddha Cave at Dongfang Buddha Capital, was mysterious and awe-inspiring, with few people, making it great for photos. Afterward, we saw the magnificent Leshan Giant Buddha, a 71-meter-tall mountain masterpiece that truly inspires reverence. For lunch, we enjoyed authentic Leshan specialty dishes. In the afternoon, we strolled through Huanglongxi Ancient Town, nestled by mountains and water, with an antique charm and a wonderfully leisurely pace of life.

A thoroughly successful excursion that was definitely worth getting up early for. The transfer to the Grand Buddha was very relaxing due to the comfortable XXL lounge seats on the bus, allowing us to get some more sleep during the ride. After an impressive boat tour with views of the Buddha, we continued to Mount Emei. There, an excellent lunch awaited us with a variety of about 10 different dishes. The subsequent ascent by bus and cable car to the temple complex above the clouds was simply breathtaking. An unforgettable experience and a clear recommendation!

The overall itinerary was exactly as described in the schedule. We took a tour bus to Leshan, where the guide gave the group an hour to eat on their own around Zhanggong Bridge. Afterward, we headed to the pier to take a boat tour of the Grand Buddha, which lasted about half an hour. Once that was finished, we returned. For me, this trip felt more like paying for round-trip transportation from Chengdu to Leshan, rather than a guided sightseeing tour.

The arrangements were well organized, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. She was patient and helpful whenever assistance was needed, making the journey comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommend this one-day tour to Mount Emei and Leshan Giant Buddha! Departing from Chengdu, all transportation is arranged, which is perfect for travelers who don’t want to drive or plan the trip themselves. No need to get up early for a tiring journey. You can also listen to the commentary along the way to learn about the historical stories behind the sites, gaining much more than wandering around on your own

It was a lovely day, that enabled me to see two places in one tour. My guide Pax took me around the Panda Base, it is huge so it’s ideal having a guide to help you. Then we went to Leshan, which was beautiful and well worth the drive. It’s a long day but I would highly recommend :)

Fun and exciting trip! Lots of walking and hiking. Being able to speak Putonghua is an advantage. Everyone was very nice and friendly.
