Fantastic 5.0
Entire trip was so seamless and straightforward. Our guide James was really friendly and accommodating. Was a bit unsure at the start because it was raining heavily but he assured us that a little bit of rain would kinda enhance the experience haha. Luckily the rain stopped by the time we got there but it did made dipping in the hot spring more enjoyable. I do wish we could have skipped the boxes though, but I suppose since it was along the route it made sense to just pit stop.

Fantastic 5.0
one of the best tours I’ve had. Luke was the driver and tour guide. He was highly knowledgeable and fantastic. I wish I had a few more days in Melbourne to book Luke for another tour. The tour (itinerary) itself was amazing and Luke made it even more memorable. I’ll definitely be telling my friends and family about how great the experience was. we started off at the Moonlit Sanctuary and fed wallabies/kangaroos. The highlight was spotting the wild wallaby as we drove to the penguins. The best part was seeing the little penguins come up from the beach and waddle up into the grass. the gift shop was great too. It was a sunny day but definitely windy. the gift shop had great embrodied jumpers and zip ups as well as blankets to purchase. I love the penguin parade. Great thank you to Luke for making it so fun too. We listened to his playlist and he sang.

What to know before visiting Melbourne

What to do in Melbourne year-round

Melbourne’s strongest draws are day Tours, Zoos & aquariums and Museums, followed by Outdoor & sports activities and Historical sites; that mix means the city suits culture-seekers and active travellers alike. Klook booking data shows demand rises through mid-year to a peak in August and falls into a very quiet late-summer February, so plan museum and zoo visits around the quieter months if you prefer fewer crowds. For travellers choosing between busy festival-season energy and calmer streets, decide whether you want peak-season atmosphere or quieter exploration — Klook booking data can help time your visit.

Best months to visit and price trends

Demand on Klook is highest in August and much lower in February, while prices across the year show distinct swings. The monthly price trend shows mid-winter and late-spring spikes in April, May and June, with the lowest median price in February; demand and price move together in May (higher prices with stronger interest) but diverge in August when demand peaks while prices dip relative to the spring high. For lower prices and smaller crowds, consider February or March; for peak-season atmosphere aim for August or September when events lift demand.

Month Demand Level Typical Price
January Quieter than usual USD 36
February Very quiet USD 32
March Very quiet USD 33
April About average USD 57
May About average USD 59
June About average USD 59
July Busier than usual USD 52
August Busier than usual USD 43
September Busier than usual USD 45
October Busier than usual USD 42
November Busier than usual USD 49
December About average USD 36

Demand is bookings in that month compared with a typical month, from historical Klook booking data, grouped into the demand levels above; typical price is the median paid on Klook in that month; prices are shown with their currency code. Based on Klook booking data, July 2025 – June 2026.

Where to stay in Melbourne by price

Klook hotel booking data shows North Melbourne is the most affordable district with a typical nightly rate around USD 86, while East Melbourne is the priciest at around USD 222, a gap of roughly 61% between them. Cheaper districts tend to suit travellers prioritising budget and flexibility — good for longer stays or more attractions on the list — while pricier districts suit those who prefer higher-end rooms and a more upscale hotel experience. Use these typical nightly rates from Klook booking data to match your comfort level with your budget.

Tips for travellers planning ahead

Most travellers on Klook book about 5 days ahead, while the earliest planners reserve around 20 days out, so you can be flexible but booking earlier helps in busier months. Because August is the peak demand month and February is very quiet, lock in tickets and tours sooner for August and you can leave bookings later for February. Klook booking data suggests last-minute options are often available a day before travel, but for popular dates and activities it’s wise to plan ahead. Book on Klook to secure refunds and instant confirmations that suit flexible itineraries.
