Puffing Billy and Phillip Island Wildlife Day Tour

Lorraine was such a lovely and friendly guide, explaining and sharing a lot about melbourne, the dandenong ranges, puffing billy history and facts about the wildlife in phillip island. We really enjoyed our day, it's an experience you should not miss when visiting melbourne.

Matt has been fabulous as a guide. Shared important info on the trip to puffing billy and Phillips island. Recommended food options available during stops which I felt the timing given to enjoy each experience of the day trip fantastic. A little disappointed that I didn't get to witness a larger group of the blue penguins coming out of the sea, but along the walking track, did see many instances of the little cuties.

Didn't expect Puffing Billing rides was an 1 hour ride and sit till backside pain but lucky can sit back to relax instead of hanging legs outside. Good experience but the view are mostly forest. Very friendly peoples who will have when passby. Penguins Island was a little dissapointed cos the penguins did not come in mass and only a few here and there. But highlight was the sky which can see lots of stars!! Note: Didn't have lunch and quick dinner at Penguins Island restaurant. Lastly Thanks to the Tour Guide whom is thoughtful and share us some jokes to keep us laughing.

This Puffing Billy and Phillip Island Penguin Parade 1 Day tour was absolutely worth it from start to finish. Everything was well-organized, smooth, and packed with unforgettable moments. Riding the historic Puffing Billy Railway through the lush forests felt magical, and the views along the way were just stunning. The highlight of the day was definitely the Phillip Island Penguin Parade. Watching the little penguins waddle ashore at sunset was such a unique and heartwarming experience — something you really have to see in person. A special shoutout to our guide, Simon, who truly made the trip exceptional. He was funny, friendly, and kept everything running perfectly on time while making the journey fun and engaging. You can tell he’s really good at what he does and genuinely cares about the group’s experience. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Victoria — it’s a full day of memories you won’t forget.

Terry delivered a solid tour on 2 Dec 2025. He knew his country well, stayed patient and kept the mood light. The Puffing Billy train ride was the highlight. I spotted an echidna, several kookaburras and many brown bunnies. He also brought us to scenic places that showed the region clearly. Dinner was fresh fish and chips at one of his favourite spots. The Penguin Parade gave a close view of the penguins returning to shore and it felt special to watch. I left with good memories and would recommend this tour for a smooth and enjoyable day.

Thank you, Matt for being our wonderful guide. Puffing Billy ride was very enjoyable with beautiful views along the way. Seating on the train railings was a great experience. Matt also a very safe driver and slowed down the vehicle a few times for us to see and take a photo of the wild animals closer. His recommendation of golden fry fish and chips and also dimsim is delicious. The Penguins is very cute and adorable, seeing them out from the water and walking was a unique experince.

Graemes was wonderful. He was really friendly and welcoming. His commentary was interesting too. Puffing Billy was better then I remembered when I last came in 2010. Peguin parade was great too. The little wonders were really cute. However, there were some visitors who did not follow instructions and used their cameras with flash despite multiple reminders and that almost spoiled the whole experience. Might be challenging for people with poor night vision. Temperature is really freezing but still an amazing experience.

Matt, our guide was very enthusiastic and entertaining. He went his way to make sure we had a fulfilling time and gave up tips to get the best of our experience. He was also a very safe driver. I had an enjoyable time. We got back at 11+PM after the little penguin watch.

I had a wonderful time with this tour. The Puffing Billy Railway ride was very enjoyable with beautiful views along the way, and I also got to see some animals during the day. At night, the highlight was watching the adorable penguins at Phillip Island, which was such a unique and unforgettable experience. I was also lucky to see two beautiful rainbows after the rain. Overall, it was a fun, memorable trip.
