Fantastic 5.0
Our Guide Mr Lee is smiley and friendly. His guide us at little Edo Street and recommend many nice streets foods and snack to buy home. Since it was raining, he suggested we should go for Prince shopping mall instead as my husband unable to do lots of walking. We are fortunate to have him as our guide.

Fantastic 5.0
An absolute must-see – the Railway Museum in Saitama! Anyone with even a spark of enthusiasm for trains will love this museum. Spanning over 9,000 square meters, visitors can delve deep into the history of Japanese railways, featuring real locomotives, interactive exhibits, and impressive technological experiences. (Sumikai) Over 36 faithfully reproduced vehicles are on display, and thanks to lighting, music, and video effects, even stationary trains come to life. (ANA) The absolute highlight for me was the ride on the small mini-train – in that moment, you completely forget your age and become a child again. That smile won't fade anytime soon! The museum is easily accessible from Ōmiya Station via the "New Shuttle" – the journey itself sets the mood for the adventure. (Japanliebe) For families, train enthusiasts, and nostalgia lovers: definitely plan a visit!

What to know before visiting Saitama

Top experiences at a glance

Saitama’s highest-booked experiences are its museums, followed by a small number of massages, with outdoor and sports activities and guided tours showing up too. Demand peaks in April and stays high through May, then dips in mid-summer before picking up again toward the end of the year.

Best picks for families, couples and solo travellers

Families will find museums the most reliable option here — child-friendly exhibits and easy, educational days out suit family rhythms. Couples can mix museum visits with a relaxing massage for a low-key, restorative itinerary. Solo travellers and small groups who want something livelier can look into the limited outdoor & sports activities and the tours, which offer more specialised or adventurous options.

What travellers should book in advance

What travellers should book ahead Most things in Saitama can be added a day or two before arrival, but many visitors typically lock in plans about four days out, and the earliest planners book around fifteen days ahead. Booking ahead matters most in April and May, when demand is busiest.

How categories compare on price and who they suit

Massages are the easiest entry point on price and are the lowest-priced category, making them a good, straightforward choice for budget-conscious travellers or anyone after a quick treat. Museums sit in the middle of the price range and are a universally suitable option for families and cultural travellers. Tours offer the widest range of prices and options, so they can fit tight budgets or premium tastes depending on the pick. Outdoor & sports activities sit at the higher end of the typical price spectrum and will appeal to travellers seeking active or speciality experiences.
