Louvre Museum

The Louvre Museum (Musée du Louvre) in Paris is one of the world’s most renowned cultural institutions, attracting art lovers globally. Originally a fortress built by Philip II, the present Louvre Palace became a public museum after the French Revolution, housing an extensive collection of paintings, sculpture, and decorative arts. It features works seized from the royal collection, confiscated church property, and acquisitions from the French Empire. Visitors enter through the main entrance, marked by the glass pyramid, leading to the underground lobby and eight curatorial departments, including Egyptian antiquities, Near Eastern antiquities, Islamic art, and Greek, Etruscan, and Roman antiquities. The Louvre’s collection features masterworks such as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, and the Winged Victory of Samothrace, displayed in the Grande Galerie and Musée Napoléon. The museum’s history spans from its origins as a fortress to its transformation during the French Revolution and its role in the Second French Empire. While the Louvre’s influence extends globally, including the creation of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, it is often compared to the Musée d’Orsay, which focuses on 19th- and early 20th-century art. With deep ties to France’s history, from Louis XIV to Louis XVIII, the Louvre primarily serves as a bridge between diverse cultures and artistic eras. A escorted tour through its exhibition spaces and Cour Carrée offers an unparalleled journey through ancient civilizations and nation’s masterpieces, making it a must-visit museum.

Fantastic 5.0
Meet at the hotel next to the Eiffel Tower and take a double-decker bus. The round trip is five hours each way, with a 30-minute rest stop each way. If you choose the transportation-only option, the tour guide will still provide some interesting facts on the bus, which is a big plus. You will arrive at a bus transfer station, where you will need to take a free shuttle bus to Mont Saint-Michel. The entire Mont itself is a small village with food, souvenirs, and more. The church at the top of the Mont is actually quite large and also has souvenirs, which I think are of better quality than the souvenirs at the bottom. Although the journey is long, Mont Saint-Michel is truly beautiful and I recommend visiting it.

Since you're already in France 😊, you have to visit the World Heritage site: Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey 🤩. Due to its remote location, you'll need to dedicate time for travel. Most importantly, visiting the abbey involves climbing stairs, so it's suitable for hikers. The drive is long, but the tour bus is comfortable, and the driver drives well, allowing people to catch up on sleep. The tour leader's arrangements were well-organized, the explanations were clear and concise, and the trip went smoothly. The abbey's arranged tour route involves climbing many stairs, which makes you realize how difficult it was to build the abbey in the first place! The building is towering and grand, and both people and God put in a great deal of effort, which is very moving! Finally, on the way back, we picked up dinner at a nearby restaurant - 8 dumplings 🥟, which was quite convenient. Overall satisfied 👍🏻

It was a nice tour! Phoebe toured us around Paris and shared fun facts and info about the tourist attractions. She arrived early on the meet up place. She also took our photos. If you have limited time in the city, this is the best tour to join.

We arrived late for our tour due to heavy traffic in Paris. Fortunately, the tour guide from City Vision quickly arranged for us to join another tour. She escorted us to the Palace of Versailles and ensured we were settled with the new guide. This location is a must-visit when in Paris, but be sure to dedicate a full day to explore its vast grounds. I recommend taking the little train within the gardens, which allows for unlimited hop-on, hop-off access (just remember to keep your ticket receipt).

The staff was excellent. The singer really livened things up, and everyone – the singer and the customers – danced and had fun together. There were also people celebrating birthdays, and it was great that we could all celebrate together! **This is a new activity on Klook and doesn’t have any reviews yet. We’ve used the provider’s average rating from other activities to give you an idea of what to expect.
