Chiayi

Alicia was a sweet, knowledge, and skilled tour guide! The tour was ran smoothly and had lots of chances to take photos, buy food + souvenirs, and take in the beautiful sights. As someone studying abroad in Taichung for a month with only weekends available, this was a great and affordable (compared to US prices) way to experience Alishan.

I was drawn by the inclusion of the forest railway, so I booked a 2-day, 1-night Alishan trip (outbound: car, return: car + train). After the reservation was confirmed, I received information about what to bring and precautions via LINE. Closer to the date, I also received detailed information about the meeting point, driver's name, and vehicle number, which was reassuring. (All in Chinese, but translation software helped.) The documents provided when boarding the shuttle car also included Japanese, which was easy to understand. The guide spoke Chinese, so I needed someone to translate for me, but there was plenty of explanation time during the 2-hour hike. The paths were well-maintained with wooden decks and stone pavements, so even with my limited stamina and in the rain, I was able to walk comfortably. One word of caution: if you use a private car transfer, there's a high risk of motion sickness because the winding mountain roads have significant inclines. Even though I don't usually get car sick, I felt quite ill during the return transfer from Alishan to Fenqihu and wished I had brought motion sickness medication.

The Alishan trip was absolutely fantastic! 🌟👏 The "Sacred Trees" of Alishan are truly awe-inspiring, having stood for thousands of years. These towering "Sacred Trees" stand silently in the primeval forest, some of these giant red cypress trees are over 2,000 years old, earning them the title of "living history textbooks." We felt as if we had stepped into another world, like a fairyland. We're so grateful to our tour guide, Kai Ge. He was kind and patient, possessing extensive professional knowledge about Alishan's culture, history, flora, and fauna. Along the way, he introduced us to attractions, told historical stories, and helped everyone take photos, adding so much enjoyment to the entire trip. Although it rained heavily and was very foggy, Kai Ge drove very steadily, making us feel safe and secure. He looked after everyone like a big brother from next door, and he worked incredibly hard. Thank you, Kai Ge; it's rare to meet such a dedicated and professional guide. Our Taiwan trip concluded perfectly, and everything was worth it! 👍👍👍

Came here n times, and this time I met the best massage therapist, #97, in these two stores in Chiayi. I belong to the type whose shoulders and neck are very tense, so tense that it’s almost impossible to massage. In less than 20 minutes, she helped me relieve the tension in my shoulders, neck, and back. Her technique is gentle but effective in finding the pain points. The treatment isn't even over yet, and I can't wait to write a review. Thank you, massage therapist F97... This time, I came with my family, and fortunately, my family members met massage therapist F93, who was quiet and professional, and made them relax, which my family liked. Our tour guide Jason was really nice and very accommodating. he made sure we are comfortable and well fed. we were able to see a lot of attractions and was able to do different activities. we enjoyed the short trip to alishan #JasonWolf

En Tony va ser, sens dubte, el millor guia turístic que podríem haver demanat per a aquest viatge! El trajecte fins a Alishan implica algunes carreteres sinuoses, però va conduir amb tanta suavitat i seguretat que ens vam sentir completament còmodes al cotxe. És un conversador fantàstic que ens va mantenir entretinguts durant el llarg trajecte, i coneix molt bé els boscos d'Alishan. Un moment destacat va ser quan ens va portar a un poble tranquil per dinar i veure passar el tren, un lloc que no hauríem trobat sols. Fins i tot va portar la seva pròpia càmera i després va compartir fotos d'alta qualitat de nosaltres i del paisatge. Max was an outstanding driver for our Alishan day tour—punctual, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. He made the entire journey smooth and comfortable, sharing great local insights along the way. Highly recommend Max for a stress-free and enjoyable experience!

first time staying at this hotel and despite being a 3 star hotel, the hotel is good with spacious rooms, good variety of breakfast and great location which is just next to wenhua night market. however I didn't see many facilities within the hotel except a restaurant. staff members were generally friendly and helpful but I faced one or two staff at the reception who seemed impatient to answer my questions. check-in and checkout were quick which was fantastic. overall, I will still come back to stay with thos hotel if I visit chiayi again.

The Chiayi Maison de Chine is the hotel with the most comfortable bed I've ever stayed in. I want to stay at Maison de Chine every time I come to Chiayi in the future. The stay also includes a happy hour voucher where you can eat snacks and drink cocktails, draft beer, or red wine next to the lobby. There aren't many snack items, but it's a nice service to have. It's also very close to the Cultural Road Night Market, within walking distance. Both motorcycles and cars can be parked in their underground parking lot.
