Work-from-home is yesterday’s news. We’ve got 5 workcation destinations for you to choose from!

But first things first, what is ‘workcation?’ It’s a fusion of the words ‘work’ and ‘vacation,’ which means working remotely, but in style! 😎
With the digital nomad concept, employees can finally enjoy working from anywhere around the world. You can work while sunbathing on the beach, relaxing in a hotel, watching sunset views on a cruise, or dining at a buffet! Who doesn’t want to travel while still earning some cash, right?
If you’re ready to kickstart your workcation, check out the list of destinations below!

    1. Bali, Indonesia

Bali, one of the top-ranking workcation destinations, should be your first choice! It's a famous city with a good mix of modern and traditional, perfect for any type of digital nomad. You can take your work to a local cafe like The Coffee Library where there’s a speedy internet connection and enough sockets for when you need to recharge your device. Although the place looks modern, the food and drinks they serve are local and traditional like ‘kopi luwak’ and famous Indonesian food like Nasi Goreng and Satay chicken.
Bali also has numerous natural wonders and attractions that have an abundance of greenery, such as The Blanco Renaissance, an art museum that has a restaurant, and beautiful gardens. It’s a good place to work if you’re the type of worker who likes peace and relaxation with nature as you get your job done. They also have co-working spaces like Dojo Bali, complete with large tables and comfortable chairs that you can use at an affordable price. During your off hours, you can even go on a much-deserved hike!
But before you fly to Bali, make sure to check out Bali’s travel restrictions and requirements first.

Phuket’s got it all for you! It’s an island that makes work and play possible because of all the relaxation you can do once work is done. There’s a beach nearby, Pa Tong, if you wanna take a dip or sunbathe, or you can stay until night time since Pa Tong Beach is known for its nightlife. They also have some cafes, but one famous cafe is The Shelter Coffee, which looks homey with all the plants, rattan, and bamboo finishing and furniture that you can see inside, a comfortable space to work in.
They have restaurants too. Try local restaurants like Raya Restaurant in Old Phuket Town, which is just a tuk-tuk away from Pa Tong Beach. There, you can savor authentic dishes like crab meat curry, spicy Phuket prawns, and deep-fried sea bass with shallots while you work. Old Phuket Town tells the story and history of Phuket with its numerous food stalls, structures, and architecture. It’s the heart of Phuket so make sure to drop by Old Phuket Town for anything and everything local and authentic in between work hours. But there’s always an option to stay in your hotel and work while enjoying the beautiful island view. Just don’t forget to check Thailand’s travel restrictions before booking your flight!

Take your work to the glistening beaches of Boracay! Work will never feel the same again when your view comes with crashing waves, coconut trees, and fruity drinks. In Boracay, you get to work while living the island life. Work while lying on a hammock, by the shore, by the pool of your hotel, or at D’Mall — whichever setting sparks joy! They have different coffee shops on the island too, if you’re looking for a peaceful and calm working environment. They have House Brew Cafe, a sleek and minimalist cafe where you can relax and work after having some fun under the sun, or Cafe Maruja, a beachfront and chill coffee shop where you can work in a paradise-like surrounding. Once work is done, you can swim or parasail to take a breather!
Before heading out, make sure you’re on top of the Philippines’ travel restrictions and requirements first.

Get inspired by the beautiful city views and ancient sites while enjoying a workcation in Istanbul! It’s a workcation destination for those looking to explore the exciting city life in Turkey. Its atmosphere is calm in the morning with most people fishing or taking a stroll, and vibrant at night with street vendors hollering their wares and musicians playing free live music on the streets. It’s best to work in a cafe in the morning to really get a good look around the city and take short breaks by taking a stroll on Pendik Coast which comes with a sea view, or Uskudar Harem Sahil Yolu where you can catch a good view of Istanbul’s iconic bridge, the Bosphorus.
Working in this city is best paired with a fresh cup of Turkish tea that packs a punch — a little bitter, slightly sour, and with a hint of sweetness, served in their unique curved and see-through tea glasses. You can also try their Turkish coffee that still has some coffee grounds in it to keep its rich flavor (The Turkish style of making coffee helps keep it fresh and unfiltered).
After work, walk the streets of Istanbul to try out different local street foods like kestane kebab (roasted chestnuts), midye tava (fried mussels), midye dolma (stuffed mussels), and köfte ekmek (meatball sandwich)! Check out Turkey’s latest travel restrictions and requirements here.

Lisbon is the place for employees seeking a workcation to nourish their souls, with stunning scenery, amazing art, and marvelous architecture here and there. During your break, you can visit famous tourist spots like Jeronimos Monastery and the Belem Tower — both of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Enjoy breathtaking views when you’re at Castelo de São Jorge, an iconic landmark in Lisbon which overlooks the city, or visit chic coffee shops like the famous Heim Café, where most remote workers can be found since the coffee shop has a warm environment and wide working areas.
There are also modern workspaces like Idea Workspace where you can get your own space at an affordable price. And did we mention that one of the fastest internet speeds in the world is in Portugal? This makes Lisbon more of an ideal workcation destination. As you go with your work shifts, take a stroll along the riverfront or at a park nearby to reset. Know Portugal’s travel restrictions first before flying out!
