Reviews
Excellent service. The tour guide introduced carefully and the winery service staff was friendly.
This was a lovely way to spend an afternoon when visiting Florence. The meeting point is at the Visitor Sightseeing desk at the main train station. From there, a tour guide will scan your ticket, give you a wrist bracelet, and escort you to the bus parking lot. Note that it is a 15 minute walk from the train station to the bus parking lot. Once on the bus, it is a 1 hour drive south to the Poggio ai Laghi winery near the fort town of Monteriggioni. The tasting of 7 wines -- including whites, reds, and sparkling -- is hosted by an expert sommelier. The tasting session lasts over an hour and is accompanied by local cured meats, cheese, olive oil, and bread. We had great conversation at our table with fellow travellers and wine enthusiasts. Afterwards, there is time to take pictures in the courtyard before boarding the bus for the ride back to Florence. Note that after your tasting session, you will likely be taken aside and 'sold' on buying bottles to take home.
Visited 2 spots. The first speaker did not really explain much. It was more of just wine tasting of 3 kinds of wine. The second speaker was a more interactive class and more informative. Liked the second spot better.
Wonderful tour to the wineries. The Tuscan countryside is breath taking. It was a nice change of pace.
If you are interested in winetasting and want to spend some time away from the city, this half day tour might be a good option. Our guide, Marco was prompt and kept everyone on schedule.
Our tour guide was really helpful and introduced everything about Tuscany like wine, restaurant and lifestyle. We would love to do another wine-tasting again.
The guide lady didn’t explain much but we still appreciate her effort. The first vineyard was really great, with quality wine and good price. The second vineyard they said they are organic but we saw some white stains on the grape leaves that may be left by artificial agents or fertilizers.
