Kimono Rental (Kyoto/Provided by Kimono Rental Kanwa Yasaka Shrine)

we had such a wonderful time during the photo session with Meng. he’s very nice and will help with posing. He took us around to different locations so we got a variety of pictures. my husband and I LOVE our photos so much and are so happy we decided to do a photo session dressed in Kimono and we haven’t even sent in our favorites for the touch up’s yet haha. The shop has a lot of different kimono to choose from, for men and women. They are so helpful in not only dressing you, but helping you to choose which kimono to wear and which patterns/ styles. They take great care of you when you’re there and you’re able to leave your bags there (clothing, shoes, etc.) and they give you a bag to match your outfit so you’re still able to carry money and your passport with you while you go out and shop about. I always wanted to dress in kimono, ever since I was a kid, and I’m so happy with the experience I had here! Everything was amazing, this lady was very sweet and helpful and did my hair exactly how i wanted it in under 10 minutes, also gave me advice about what hair accessories i should pick and it helped a lot cause it looked waaay better than what i wouldve picked myself. She helped us with an umbrella because it was raining and offered to take some pictures of us when we were both ready 🌸

The staff were incredibly kind, and since there weren't many customers when we visited, they helped us get dressed quickly and styled our hair efficiently. As someone who appreciates speed, I was very satisfied! We visited on March 10th around 12:30 PM. It was my first time trying this, and I'm very happy with the experience. I'd love to visit again! ♡

They styled my hair beautifully and recommended pretty clothes, so I took a lot of pictures and made happy memories!! Even though I arrived later than my reservation time, they welcomed me warmly and treated me kindly, so I was touched, as this was my first trip abroad haha.

what a great experience renting a kimono from this shop! The 2 ladies that helped me were so nice and everything was super quick. They have so many options to choose from and everything probably took like 30 mins. highly recommend them! Thank you for an unforgettable experience in Kyoto!

We had a group of 9, and there were 2 staff members, who took great care of all of us, we had an 11 am appointment, and we were out in great time. very organized.

I originally booked only the women’s kimono, and decided that I wanted to add makeup and photography afterwards. I went to the shop early to ask, and they also let me try on different kimonos ahead of time so I could take pictures and decide which one I wanted. Throughout the entire experience, the staff were extremely kind and helpful! I love how the photos turned out, and would highly recommend the shop to anyone interested in a kimono rental!

I booked a kimono experience on Klook last minute to fully enjoy Kyoto's Gionmizu-dera Temple and Gion district, and now I understand why Kanwa's reviews are all so good! You can book even just a day before, and everything from hair to shoes and accessories is included in the base price, and the basic kimono designs are so, so pretty! All the staff are so kind, and they kindly explained everything to me, a newbie, and helped me complete my look with a kimono that suited me perfectly! The moment I put it on, I straightened my back, and I felt strangely good! A little stuffiness and heat were no problem at all 🩶. Thanks to them, I had a great experience on my trip to Kyoto 🫶🏻.
