Sky Lantern Prayer Experience at Shifen Old Street

We saw this lantern activity on tv and thought it would be fun. It turned out to be really spiritual in that we were able to put our wishes on each side of the lantern and then release them. Many lanterns we saw had winning the lottery or finding the perfect mate on them. Ours ended up being very similar even though we had written our wishes independently. Mostly about good health and family. I found this to be a very personal and rewarding activity. Perhaps that was the point all along

The sky lantern experience was amazing! I loved the place and really enjoyed writing our wishes on the lantern. There are so many food stalls to choose from—we tried the black pig sausage and it was delicious. Overall, it was such a memorable and fun experience!

Had an amazing time at the Shifen Sky Lantern experience! 🌟 We got to write our wishes on the lanterns and watch them soar into the sky (well, attempted to - the rain tried to bring them down 😂). You can apply on-site, but if you make a reservation in advance through Klook, you can release your lantern more smoothly. (Just show the QR code after booking) I think there were single-colored and five-colored lanterns. There are colorful lanterns, and the single-colored ones are cheaper, but it seems that writing your wishes on the colorful ones will bring you more luck. If you hand over your smartphone, the lantern shop owner will take a picture for you with enthusiasm, so it was a great memory. Please try it. Also, the sweet and spicy chicken wings stuffed with rice sold at the stalls are really delicious, so please try them. The trains that pass by at the last minute are impressive and fun.

As we stood on the old railway tracks, surrounded by the nostalgic charm of Shifen Old Street, we were handed a large paper lantern and paintbrushes. Each side of the lantern was a canvas for our wishes—health, love, success, and happiness. Writing our hopes and dreams in bold strokes felt surprisingly emotional and grounding. When it was time to release the lantern, we watched it slowly rise into the sky, carrying our messages with it. The sight of dozens of glowing lanterns floating above the rooftops and into the mountains was absolutely magical. It felt like time stood still for a moment.
