What to expect
Our local professional driver/guide will pick you up from the hotel you provide and take you to Jiufen. Upon arrival in Jiufen, we will head straight to the famous Jiufen Old Street. The streets are lined with red lanterns, and the buildings showcase traditional Taiwanese architectural styles. You will find many shops, snack stalls, tea houses, and souvenir shops along the way.
In addition to Jiufen Old Street, you can also visit the Shengping Theater, Golden Waterfall, and Yin Yang Sea. Shengping Theater is a well-preserved Japanese-style cinema, now a museum showcasing the history of Jiufen's film and television industry. In addition, the color of the Golden Waterfall is caused by heavy metal elements such as iron and manganese in the water. As the water flows down the mountainside, it absorbs these minerals, creating a golden appearance.
Shifen Old Street has been preserved and converted into a street full of shops, restaurants, and souvenir shops. You can buy lanterns from local stores, write your wishes or messages on them, and then release them into the air. We had an awesome day exploring sites in Taiwan: the waterfalls, lantern experience and Juifen, thanks to our excellent guide Sung Ping who was both a tour guide and the driver. He explained a lot about Taiwanese culture and history. It is a good tour to easily access a variety of sites on one day, with enough time spent in each location. The car ride from Taipei offers comfort and ease.
