Reviews
They were effient when dressing me. I looked and felt so beautiful. I had a few people tell me I was beautiful as I walked around. One woman asked if she could take a picture with me, when I replied yes, she was surprised and said, "Oh you're American!" I am 1/2 Okinawan!
Accommodating and skilled staff who assisted my 88 year old grandmother. Ryusou attires are different from Kimono. Providing flexibility of both studio and outdoor shoot isn't widely availabile even in Tokyo or Kyoto. A fruitful experience.
Get off at Makishi Station and walk towards Makishi Market for about 12 minutes. If you are shy to wear Ryukyu costumes and take photos on Kokusai-dori, I suggest you choose the 15-minute tour of dressing up in the store and taking photos. If you don't mind other people looking at you after changing clothes, then you must try the 3-hour option. Unfortunately, my companion was shy this time, so we only went to have lunch, took a few photos and went back to change our clothes. The two female clerks on reception were very gentle and introduced very clearly (although I couldn't understand ^¥^), and the auntie who took photos was also good. At the end, when they want to remove the hair accessories, you can ask to keep the hairstyle.
The entrance is not difficult to find, you can easily find it by following Google Maps. After going up to the second floor, I felt like "a sparrow is small but has all the essentials." The styles and colors were not as huge as invincible, but they were enough to make my choice difficult. I thought everything looked good, so I finally asked the store clerk to help me choose what she thought. The set up is great. Even when I was doing my hair, I asked my sister to help me choose hair accessories. They are very nice people. One of the sisters speaks Chinese very well, so there is no problem in communication. We walked for three hours and received a lot of compliments. The Japanese people are full of emotional value. There were so many group photos taken by passers-by, and some of them took photos of us directly😆 It was really cost-effective and a very happy experience! !
This time experiencing Ryukyu clothing in Okinawa was absolutely fantastic! The staff were very kind, helping to select suitable styles and colors, and carefully helped with taking photos. The quality of the clothing was very good, with details full of traditional characteristics, and wearing it immediately immersed me in the Ryukyu atmosphere. The photo location was beautiful, and every photo turned out gorgeous! The whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable, highly recommended for friends who want to experience Okinawan culture, definitely worth visiting again!
The shop is located inside Makishi Market. Take the stairs from the 1st-floor entrance to the 2nd-floor shop, and just show your reservation confirmation. You'll need to take off your shoes at the entrance and put them in a plastic bag. You'll also be given a large bag for your personal belongings (and a numbered wristband to wear). Any food or drinks should be placed separately on a small table inside the door. Please remember to keep an eye on your belongings, as I left the Chinsuko I bought at Shuri Castle in the shop and forgot to take it with me. By the time I remembered, it was the next day, and it was the shop's day off on Sunday, so I had to leave it for them (cries). This shop is very popular. I arrived on time for my reservation, and there were already at least 4 to 5 Chinese girls getting dressed or waiting in line. It took about 30 to 40 minutes for my turn. I recommend booking the earliest slot if possible to avoid waiting in line and to ensure you get to choose the outer and inner garments you want before others pick them! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Even though they were extremely busy, they patiently discussed what hairstyle you wanted and what obi (belt) style you preferred. They also helped take photos when they had a moment. The service includes hairstyling and dressing (you can choose between a kimono or Ryukyu dress), but not makeup. Two-toed socks are provided. For the Ryukyu dress, you choose the outer and inner garments separately. You change out of your own clothes in a small changing room, put on the nude-colored bodysuit provided by the shop, and then wait in line for hairstyling and dressing. You can also choose your own hair accessories. Finally, after taking all your photos and taking off the Ryukyu dress, you don't have to undo your hairstyle. The shop even gives you a small hair tie as a gift (you can choose the design). This was truly an interesting experience and highly recommended!
The staff here were so lovely and helpful, they all spoke a little English but I was able to communicate with rudimentary Japanese. the dressing was easy and straightforward and then they did photos and then I went out for a walk around. Lovely experience!
A costume event worth experiencing! The store is easy to find, the service is very good and attentive, they will actively help and give advice on clothing matching, and they also helped us take a lot of photos of the scenes in the store before returning the clothes! Finally, there are souvenir hair accessories to give away!
The store is easy to find on the second floor. The service attitude is super good. The emotional value is great. The hair is tied very well! ! I can't bear to tear it down 😭😭 I will want to experience it again next time. The weather was not good this time.
The ladies at the renting shop were all friendly and helpful! Within 30minutes I was able to select, changed and completed my hairdo (this service is included in the price for 3 hours) and took several pictures in their tiny indoor studio. The hair accessories and Japanese bag were all provided, the package is so inclusive for this price! I will definitely return to try a different colour 💕
