Great food and service but not sure it was worth the cost. Feel better value at other 3 hatted restaurants.

It's a great experience, sitting in the semi-outdoor space, the scenery is good, but it's really hot at noon.

We had a booking for 8pm Sat evening. On Wednesday I received a voicemail notifying me that the booking platform had accepted too many bookings and they needed to try and reschedule customers. They tried to get me to switch to a lunch booking or a Sunday night booking, neither of which suited. They agreed to honour our Sat night booking. However on arrival, the venue felt incredibly crowded, and service rushed. I've attended many high-profile pop-ups in Sydney including Noma, Orana, and Hiroyuki Sato at Icebergs. While they were all eye-wateringly expensive, upon entry you immediately knew where your money had gone - the experiences were out-of-this-world. Not so with Mirazur. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere absent. For AUD$685ph plus wine, it was a huge disappointment.

This dinner was so disappointing I don't even know where to start. For the money they charged we were expecting the best meal of our lives - however that is definitely not what we got. The food all looked beautiful but almost all the courses tasted average at best. Some of them weren't even worth finishing and the staff didn't notice/care that we weren't eating them. We didn't get a menu until the end of the evening and we weren't told how many courses there were, or when we were getting the last savoury course so we couldn't pace the wines properly (which were in fact lovely but chosen by us). We didn't get water until after our first course came even though 3 different waiters asked if we wanted still or sparkling. The best thing we ate was probably the bread which was made by a local bakery and not by them and the butter which was from a Victorian farm.

Review for: Mirazur Beyond Borders: Sydney Australia [Dinner Seating]

I am writing to express my deepest disappointment with my recent dining experience at the Mirazur pop-up hosted by The Gantry Restaurant. As a seasoned patron of 3-Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide, including former number ones such as Eleven Madison Park and Noma, as well as other renowned establishments like Pujol and Schloss Schauenstein, I had high expectations for my visit to this exclusive pop-up event. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I anticipated. The ambiance of the pop-up was diminished by the unsightly table decorations and overcrowding, which detracted from the sophisticated atmosphere one expects in a Michelin-rated establishment. The food served was subpar, with an excessive focus on vegetables and ingredients that failed to justify the exorbitant price tag of $675 per person (excluding beverage). In this Information Age, a captivating narrative alone cannot sustain the reputation of a 3-Michelin-starred restaurant or pop-up dining experience. The essence of an exceptional dining experience lies in the quality and creativity of the dishes presented. Your collaboration with The Gantry Restaurant fell significantly short in this regard. Had this been an Australian restaurant, I would not have hesitated to request a refund. However, I feel compelled to share my experience with you in the hope that you will take this feedback to heart and strive to improve the quality of your future collaborations. I urge you to reevaluate your culinary offerings and prioritize the dining experience of your guests in order to restore the esteemed reputation both Mirazur and The Gantry Restaurant once held.

This is, at best, Mirazur Lite…at full price. Seems a very poor imitation of the real thing. This wouldn’t even be close to the best restaurant in Sydney. The Gantry Restaurant just isn’t a suitable venue. It looks back over Hickson Road Wharves, no bridge views. Very nondescript. There’s a literal pedestrian/running path that goes through the restaurant. Of note, the restaurant in France remained open, so who exactly came out? I’m not sure about kitchen staff, but head chef certainly not present. Did he even come to Sydney? Service staff seemed to be a mix of Mirazur and Gantry/hotel. It showed. Quite chaotic and not up to the required standard. Other than the apple/wasabi dessert none of the courses were outstanding. Pacing was dreadful. One of the service members told us the courses were coming fast at the start because the kitchen was quiet, would slow down when it got busier. Eh, what? Isn’t the pacing meant to be determined and the same for all? Noma did this right a few years ago. Closed in Copenhagen, came out months in advance to really research the menu, and had all their staff. L’enclume, coming later in the year, sound like they’re going to do it right…closing in the UK, bringing the whole team. Mirazur did it wrong. No issues, but be upfront about it and reduce the price.
