Sun Moon Lake Tour (From Taipei)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing experience on our Sun Moon Lake tour, and a big part of that was thanks to Jeannie! She was friendly, professional, organized, and incredibly knowledgeable throughout the entire trip. She shared interesting information about each destination, kept the group informed, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Her energy and passion for what she does really enhanced the experience and made the tour both enjoyable and memorable. Sun Moon Lake is beautiful on its own, but having a guide like Jeannie made the experience even better. Highly recommend this tour, and if you’re lucky enough to have Jeannie as your guide, you’re in great hands!

It was a long travel from Ximen/Taipei Main Station, but the bus ride was comfortable and the lake view was worth it. Our tour guide Joseph also shared an interesting story about the lake, and gave us a good outline of Taipei's political history. I also enjoyed the optional walk along the trail behind the temple, but unfortunately didn't get to finish the entire stretch because of time constraint. The tour would have been lovelier but it was raining when we visited so we weren't able to go biking. Overall, I am satisfied with the trip and our tour guide.

Sun Moon Lake trip was such an amazing and memorable experience! The place itself was beautiful, but what made the tour even better was our tour guide/driver, Sir Allan. He made the whole trip easy, light, and fun for everyone. He’s also a really good photographer and helped us capture beautiful memories throughout the tour. 😊 Sir Allan is such a nice and accommodating person, and he was always on time which made everything smooth and hassle-free. I’m really glad he was our tour guide for this trip. Will surely book here again, and hopefully Sir Allan will be our tour guide again next time! Highly recommended! ✨

it was raining on the day, yet it was a memorable experience. Lyndon, our guide/driver has given so much information about the places & Taiwan in general. Our safety was his priority at all times. Other than the cruise, we enjoyed the black tea eggs.. it's a must to taste when in Sun moon lake.

Our tour guide Joseph was very helpful. I like him being considerate to us and explaining Sunmoonlake details on the second part of the trip after the CR break at Taichung. I just hope that the time for CR break would be longer and make it instead of 10mins,maybe consider making it 15mins since we have to walk and line up during the break. Also it will be helpful if the tourist will be informed of the walking path beside the port for not all tourists will go biking. Overall we did enjoy the trip & I commend Joseph for being such a good tour guide. He takes good pictures and has a good command in English. I appreciate also the part where he translates it in Mandarin for those non English speakers and personal thanked us one by one after the trip and asked us for suggestions. I told him my opinions and he listened well and I appreciate him for that. Sunmoonlake is surely a place to go back to again in Taiwan.Maybe you can offer an overnight option soon for best experience ,

The tour guide was incredibly attentive throughout, not only punctual for our meeting but also explaining the history and local culture of Sun Moon Lake in a very engaging way. This allowed us to do more than just take photos; we truly understood the story of this lake. The itinerary was very smooth. Taking a boat from Shuishe Pier, exploring and eating at Ita Thao Old Street, and praying at Xuanguang Temple were all perfectly arranged, with no rushing and no forced shopping. The boat tickets were included directly in the tour, which was super convenient as we didn't have to queue to buy them ourselves! The guide also recommended must-try snacks and hidden photo spots on the old street. The whole day was relaxing and fulfilling—truly the most effortless way to experience Sun Moon Lake!

To those of you who are Taiwanese but still considering it~ If you're taking a day off from your busy work schedule and don't want to think about itineraries, don't want to buy transportation tickets in advance, and just want to completely relax by strolling around Sun Moon Lake, taking a boat ride, enjoying the breeze, and exploring an old street for some food and drinks, then I highly recommend this tour! Although the round trip from Taipei takes a long time (over 3 hours each way), this also means you'll have plenty of time to catch up on sleep 😉 Regarding the itinerary, the tour guide will arrange everything for you. You just need to remember to return to the meeting point at the designated time. Since foreign tourists make up the majority of Klook's one-day tours, the guide will primarily speak English but will translate into Chinese, providing a bilingual English and Chinese tour! Don't worry about not understanding; you can always raise your hand and ask the guide if you have any questions! Our guide this time, Ken, was cheerful and humorous. He shared many interesting stories about Sun Moon Lake and helped us take photos at scenic spots. He also explained all the注意事项 (important notes) very clearly. We felt very safe with him, and the trip was very enjoyable! 🥰 One thing to note is that the Ita Thao shopping street stop for lunch and shopping is only about 1 hour. Those who eat slowly might not have much time to shop, which is a bit of a shame (but understandable to avoid delaying the return time). When we visited Xuanguang Temple this time (it's only about a 5-minute climb, and I recommend going up for a panoramic view of Sun Moon Lake), we happened to encounter a live performance by the local Naluk band. It was truly relaxing and comfortable with the beautiful scenery of Sun Moon Lake! For the final cycling around the lake activity, you can choose to rent a bicycle or not. If you don't rent one, you can simply walk along the lakeside. Renting a bicycle for the round trip takes about an hour. If you're like me and not very fit, you can choose to walk along the lakeside path and then enjoy tea at a tea shop near the pier, which is also a great option! He was also very punctual, arriving on time for both pick-up and drop-off. We felt safe and comfortable throughout the journey because of his careful driving. He kindly helped us take great photos and made sure we captured memorable moments. We also appreciated that he brought us to a famous Sun Moon Lake store where we were able to buy pasalubong. Overall, it was a smooth and enjoyable tour. Highly recommended.
