Design Ah! Experience the Wonder of Everyday Design

Everyday life unfolds through interactions with many objects, from chopsticks and toothbrushes to
buses, traffic lights, and much more. Each item was designed by someone who considered how it would
be used and how it could improve daily routines. Design Ah! at M+ invites visitors to see and play with
ordinary objects in new and unexpected ways, and to explore how they use their bodies, including their
eyes, hands, and feet, to understand the world around them.
The presentation at M+ will open to the public at the Main Hall Gallery from Saturday, 27 June 2026, to Sunday, 10 January 2027

I thoroughly enjoyed both the permanent collection and the special exhibitions. The ability to see contemporary Asian art is a major advantage. Currently, a solo exhibition by artist Lee Bul is underway. You can also see works by Korean artists such as Kimsooja and Nam June Paik. The views of the West Kowloon Cultural District and Victoria Harbour through the large glass windows are a highlight in themselves. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, which showed great attention to detail. There are food trucks nearby, so it would be a good idea to grab lunch or dinner after seeing the exhibition. (I also visited the adjacent Hong Kong Palace Museum and saw the Egyptian exhibition.)
All artworks were wonderful. Modern China can give a very stronge influence to the world, especially arts. Many talented Chinese absorbed the Western skills and concepts of Arts, together with the traditional Western power and Japanese elites. All showed off in M+.
M+ is such an amazing place to spend at least half your day. Level 2 are where the majority of exhibits are but don’t go past the featured gallery on the ground floor and the free galleries on B2 and B1. Once you’re done, make sure to take a walk around the park outside, it offers a fabulous sunset view.
Such a fun experience and definitely worth the miney! I rarely pay for museums but this one was worth it. I enjoyed the themes in different galleries, the interactiveness of the galleries and the audio guide as well. I enjoyed the complimentary live guide that cane with the ticket but I enjoy going through art at my own pace so J would definitely skip the live guide next time
super convenient and if you purchase the ticket on Klook some time you may finds better deal than get a ticket at the door. This M+ Meseum is great for those who like to indulge into the arts and have good time to spend to consume those art piece and the artist
Epic modern art collections and a waterfront space that's as much an architectural marvel as a museum. I spent a good 5 hours there, walking slowly and taking in the different spaces in M+. A must-visit for art lovers. The rooftop garden offers a breathtaking view of Hong Kong skyline and a perfect place to relax. I find the gift shop interesting as well. If there is time, check out the food trucks near the museum and enjoy a drink by the promenade. there is also a ferry that you can take to Central.
Entering the museum was easy, just had to show the QR code to the guides by the escalators— no need to go up to the desk. The galleries were interesting and layed out well. Guides were attentive and fluent in English, ready for any questions. Overall a great experience, would visit again if the galleries are updated.
The M+ Museum is an outstanding cultural destination that offers a modern, inspiring, and thoughtfully curated experience. The architecture itself is striking, creating an impressive space that complements the innovative exhibitions inside. The galleries showcase a diverse range of visual art, design, architecture, and moving images, allowing visitors to explore creativity from both local and international perspectives. Sadly, as I wasn't feeling well during the visit, I missed to explore the entire areas. Please note that all outside food must be placed inside your bag, even if it is properly sealed.
