Mangrove River SUP in Hijya River

I arrived earlier than gather time and the program started earlier. Only me applied for that session thus it’s a 1on1 session which is pretty nice. The whole experience is nice and the staff tried his best to communicate with me in English with google translate. The stated session time is about 2-2.5 hours but my session ended like in 1.75hrs (maybe coz it’s 1on1 session?). The whole experience is worth trying if it’s the first time u play SUP!

This is a great activity if you want to learn Standup Paddle. The river is calm. Our guide Yuito was very patient and explained each step. How to paddle, how to sit, safety measures. After paddling for 10-15min, he taught how to stand. it was a really great experience. Life jackets, shoes, hat were provided.

Even if I don't understand the language, the instructor kindly explained it casually and taught me using body language, and took a lot of pictures with the camera! It was a bit disappointing that we didn't go inside the mangrove forest, but it was still good!!!

A great experience with a great guide. would recommend it 100%, I selected to do the paddle boarding and would be tempted to book the kayaking.

While my guide was very nice and kind, the equipment was very old. My SUP was damaged around the edges, had green slime living in the cracks, and left Styrofoam pieces on my shorts (it looked like snow). My guide's SUP was very nice and in good condition. I wish the guests could have the same equipment. Did not look like the pictures. I still enjoyed myself, but could have been better with newer equipment
