Fast delivery. We received the exchange couple within few days. We went to Nagoya station to exchange the pass and also reserved our seats. We visited Gero, Shirakawago, Kanazawa, Fukui, Tsuruga. We took JR train, express bus and Shinkansen train. Very worth it
Arriving 1-2 days after purchasing, JNE courier. I exchange the pass at Tokyo station, a day before my flight to Nagoya. I visited Fukui, Kanazawa, Toyama, Shirakawa-go, Takayama, Hida-Furukawa, Gero, and heading back to Nagoya with this pass. I use around a whopping 50k yen in total. Can reserve seat up to 6x, but I only use 2x. For fast paced traveller like me, who easily get bored, this is suuper worth the money! Just hop on the shinkansen (only kagayaki needs seat reservation) or Hida, and off to another place. If you are planning to visit Shirakawa-go via Kanazawa, make sure to reserve the bus early! Booked mine D-26 by phone. It is selling like a hotcakes!
We flew into Nagoya Airport. We used the Pass to take the Hida Wide View to Takayama, stopping at Shirakawago before taking a bus to Kanazawa. Then we took the Shinkanzen + Thunderbirds to Osaka. On the last day, we chose to visit Kyoto on a 1-day trip using the Haruka non-reserved seat. The only precaution is not to lose the pass throughout the 5 days of use. Overall, during the fall foliage season, we were very impressed with this route.
Price: Approximately HK$1,000. If you use it for a full five days, you'll definitely get your money's worth. The JR Pass includes the Shirakawa-go Takayama Nohi Bus ticket. Remember to make a reservation online in advance and pick up your ticket early before boarding. The bus ticket will be collected when you board. It's a good idea to take a photo of the ticket as a souvenir. Also, because the weather is so hot, I recommend paying to take the bus up to the observation deck. There is a photographer who will take your photo for a fee of JPY2,000. They take great photos, and I think it's worth the purchase.
This was a very good pass especially if you planned to go to Nagoya, Takayama, Kanazawa, Hida Furukawa and back to Nagoya. It also reserved seats for the 2.5 to 1.5 hours ride. Very easy to use. Just a reminder to present the pass to the ticket counter first, so that they will go you the tickets along with the reserved seats. You can also reserved seats at the vending ticket area. Highly recommended.
The main purpose of this trip was to visit Shirakawa-go. This pass was incredibly cost-effective; the round-trip transportation from Osaka alone (train, including a Shinkansen segment, plus bus) almost equaled the pass price. For the remaining four days, I used it to travel to Kyoto, Nara, Uji, and Kansai Airport.
The JR Takayama-Hokuriku pass was a great deal through Klook. It was easy to use and made traveling very cost-effective. It's even easier if you have the Klook app. I received the voucher by email and picked up the temporary ticket at Suvarnabhumi Airport, 2nd floor, Arrival Hall, Door 2. Then, I exchanged it for a reserved seat train ticket at JR Nagoya. You can reserve express train seats for free 4 times. Just traveling round-trip between Nagoya and Takayama 4 times already makes it worth it, because buying individual tickets would cost about 1500 baht per trip, depending on the yen exchange rate that day. This time, we stayed in Nagoya for 4 nights and took day trips to Kamikochi, Takayama (Gifu), and Gero, eating and traveling until we were tired. I recommend reserving a window seat on the right side when traveling from Nagoya to Takayama – the view is beautiful! The JR Nagoya staff were very friendly and helpful, offering great advice. If you're going to Kamikochi on a one-day trip, get off at Takayama Station. Take the escalator down and turn left to the bus station, which is right at the train station. Buy a round-trip bus ticket for 5800 yen, and you'll get 4 tickets. Ask for the timetable at the bus station. On the way there, wait for bus No. 5, which takes 1 hour to get to Hirayu Onsen. Change buses and wait at No. 1 to go to Kamikochi, which takes 30 minutes. On the way back, take the bus from stop 5 to Hirayu Onsen, and then wait for the bus back to Nagoya at stop 2.
The exchange order was delivered on time within 4 days to me. Delivery from Taiwan to Malaysia by DHL. Such a fast service. I used the exchange order to exchange for the ticket at JR office at Kansai Airport. Very convenient and super worth it as it helped me to save.
Ease of redemption and ability to change at JR ticket station as well as Reserve ticket on the Hida limited express to toyama. Use on hokuriku Tsuruga and Asama unserved shibkanaen between Tsuruga and Toyama
I've purchased this pass multiple times. It's a great value for the price for traveling. Unlimited rides on both the Shinkansen and express trains, as well as the bus to Shirakawa-go. Highly recommended for those traveling the Hokuriku route.
