What to expect
Nijo-jo Castle will present its first immersive theater, “Shiro Geki: Onmyoji Mizuki’s Time-Space Chronicle – Save the Kan’ei Imperial Visit!”, created by Japan Academy Prize winner Junichi Yasuda. The show combines a huge 5‑meter‑tall, 29‑meter‑wide LED screen with live acting, creating an impact beyond projection alone. Ultra-bright, high‑definition visuals, immersive audio, and the performers’ presence synchronize seamlessly, filling the venue with realism. This fusion draws audiences deep into the story, gradually blurring the line between reality and the virtual world. In addition to the immersive theate, your visit also includes admission to the Ninomaru Palace, a National Treasure. The cherry blossoms at Nijo-jo Castle are also famously beautiful. Don’t miss this special opportunity!

Reviews
Super nice evening. It consisted of a Japanese musical and then a light show at the castle. There were food options and stalls to browse. Overall, I found it very enjoyable!
Overall, we really enjoyed it, especially the illuminated "Cherry Blossom Avenue." The palace tour was also lovely. Unfortunately, we missed the very short theater performance; by the time we walked through the garden and arrived, it was already over, even though we were there much too early 😂.
My 14-year-old appreciated the storyline of the interactive show they presented. It was very lively and entertaining. It was a great experience to see the cultural site at night
On the date of our visit, April 18th, there were almost no cherry blossoms. The castle views are nice, but you can only explore the exterior. There's a theater show, but it costs extra. For the price of admission, I would expect it to be included.
The show was super entertaining, and the illumination of the cherry blossom trees was beautiful!
beautiful venue. I loved the night lit cherry blossoms. the castle was an exceptional experience at night. the show was cute but corny. overall a great experience. would definitely recommend.
I thought the sound and light show would last longer. Luckily, we had access to the entire park to make up for the 10-minute show.
Visiting the castle's interior was truly amazing, and the experience was excellent, providing an immersive feeling. The lights outside the castle were also spectacular. It's a bit of a shame that the cherry blossoms had already fallen.
very fun tour with great information.
The 35 mins show was okay, would have preferred more Sakura related lighting.
