Reviews
The actors' makeup and costumes were meticulous, and their performance was professional. You can tell they put a lot of effort and hard work into memorizing their lines, with clear pronunciation and expressive acting. The actresses' costumes were also sexy and energetic. The venue was well-planned. Although the story was frightening, the venue was clean and airy, with air conditioning indoors, so you won't be stuffy and faint from fright. We went to the early show, with bright daylight outside, so a more accurate reflection of safety issues would be during the evening show. The private car transfer service was safe and arrived on time, and the weather was great that day, so the overall experience was not affected by traffic or weather conditions.
We played the afternoon session. Although there were 26 people in the van, we were divided into smaller groups of 5-8 people to split up and act independently. There are both indoor and outdoor sections, so the outdoor parts lacked a sense of horror due to the afternoon sunlight. However, the indoor scenes were terrifying (for example, the old toilets and dormitories already had a spooky atmosphere). The NPC and theater actors were professional in their acting, creating a sense of shock and suspense even in the afternoon session. Coupled with the appropriate location selection, it was a very good experience. Areas for improvement: It is recommended to allow for a little more time between each session to avoid having two groups (52 people) in the same area when performing some tasks.
We're loyal fans of Mental Bread escape room, and this was our sixth time participating. It was another great experience!😆😆 Firstly, the location is a bit remote, so there was some traffic on the way up the mountain, which meant we had to get out and walk 15 minutes to the destination. 😛😛 But to see the terrifying ghosts, walking wasn't a big deal, and the weather was perfect for a hike anyway 😉😉. The facilities are older than the Sai Kung Haunted School location, and there was relatively less interaction with the ghosts. However, the ghosts' makeup was very well done, and most of the ghosts' performances were professional. The only disappointment was the ghost in the kitchen who didn't interact with us at all. I don't know if it was because we couldn't solve the puzzle, so the ghost didn't give us any hints. But overall, the story was interesting, and I especially enjoyed the fire-eating performance. It's a pity we couldn't see the sexy pajamas😭😭😭. I hope Mental Bread continues to improve!🤩🤩
This is my second time participating in a Mental Bread event. This time, we drove from Tsuen Wan to Shrek Land on Tai Mo Shan, a journey of over two and a half hours. The location itself was already quite dark and gloomy, which enhanced the atmosphere. We were in the 7:30 PM slot, the first group of the night. Upon entering, we had 45 minutes to search for evidence, which was generally sufficient. We were able to explore all the rooms. The NPCs and decorations created a sense of fear and urgency. There was more time to find evidence compared to the previous Sai Kung event. Afterwards, there was a 45-minute theater segment, and all the actors performed vividly, providing appropriate hints and guidance. Overall, this event was well-organized. Of course, there are a few logistical aspects that could be clarified further. Thanks to the efforts of all the staff, including the drivers.

Good location choice and good actors. Staffs were funny. They took care a lot about the safety and interacted with participants a lot.
Overall, the concept and story are great. The proportions of haunted house, murder mystery, and exploration are well-balanced, with exploration being the most emphasized, followed by murder mystery, and lastly, the haunted house aspect. The story content is rich, and the leader provided a very detailed explanation of the entire story and character analysis at the end. If you're looking for jump scares, there might be relatively fewer since it's clear that finding information at each location is safe. Areas for improvement could include adding more NPCs; I'd estimate there were no more than 15 NPCs throughout the entire experience. There's less interaction in the haunted house, but the actors' performances in each scene are excellent, the characters are well-defined, and each character's vignette is captivating and well-executed. Perhaps because we were in the last session, there weren't too many people, so we had enough time to explore all the areas. You'll encounter people from the same group, but basically, it's a pattern of them exiting as we enter. I appreciate the freedom to follow and explore at our own pace. The only time it felt crowded was during one of the actors' performances, where many people were packed into a relatively large room, or during some of the minor character's vignettes, which felt a bit cramped since some rooms were smaller and harder to see with many people. But overall, it was a good experience with many highlights. Scare factor: 6/10, Performance: 8/10, Exploration: 10/10, Overall: 8/10.
