At the base of a scenic valley, Arima Onsen, Japan's most famous hot spring town, lies deep in the north of the Rokko Mountain range behind Kobe city. It is the oldest onsen (hot spring) town in Japan, founded 1300 years ago. Since the days of old, it has been well known as a timeless spa resort where Emperors, court nobles, samurai, and other great minds visited. Furthermore, the town's classic Japanese architecture and its numerous historical temples, shrines, and houses have fortunately been well preserved and make a great place to stroll through some of Japan's oldest streets and to take a dip it some ancient hot springs at the fantastic Taikou-no-yu spa. With access from Kansai International Airport and Kyoto within two hours, Arima Onsen makes for a great day trip with convenient access to the nearby cities.

A shuttle bus runs between the Kobe Railway Arima Onsen Station and Taiko-no-yu. From the station, it takes 10 minutes on foot to reach Arima Onsen. The boarding point is the bus stop for the loop bus. The shuttle bus times may change depending on the season.
Great place for onsen lover! Nice and quiet environment. You don't have to bring anything to there. They provide everything you need like hair dryer, shampoo and towel. Will definitely go back again!
Good!the place is so beautiful
It was a bit away from the city, and have to make a few transfer to get there. Generally it is well facilitated. If u only buy the admission ticket, you can't really do much there. So it would b more logical to buy package.
Shuttle bus provided at arima onsen station to the spa! Had a very relaxing time at the onsen, not too many tourists in this area too.
Hassle free booking process with Klook. Onsen was a bit crowded as it was a public holiday but definitely a novel experience worth trying. Loved the outdoor section & multi colored robes u can choose from, as well as soft serve ice cream after the Onsen! Thanks Klook ;) PS - don't forget that there's free shuttle services provided at arimaonsen station.
