On our last day in Osaka, we went to a sushi-making experience! :) I wanted to give my child a special experience, so I booked it long before we even arrived in Japan. Honestly, I was a bit tired from expending so much energy at USJ the day before, and I wondered if I had made a mistake booking an activity that required more effort. But in the end, I think it was a really great decision! 😆 My child said it was the most fun part of our trip to Japan (USJ was second, by the way 🤣), and they absolutely loved it. I think cultural experiences during childhood travels abroad have a positive impact on understanding and developing an interest in that country. On the way out, my child asked me various questions about things they heard during the program, like the Edo period. The young owners conducted the experience in English and were very kind, and I liked the casual atmosphere. :) The shop was also bright and clean. And even though my child usually only likes egg sushi and doesn't eat much fish, they ate a lot of it after making it themselves. I thought an hour and a half would be long, but after making and eating all the sushi, the time flew by incredibly fast. It's a great place to visit with family, partners, or friends. :) If you want to create some wonderful memories during your trip to Japan, I highly recommend the sushi-making experience!
Wow, cannot recommend Sushi Making Osaka highly enough! Their clear communication and responsiveness when making the booking was impressive, and the fact the class was so personalised, accommodating, and clearly presented, it felt as though I was welcomed into a home and hanging out with a couple of friends that just happened to be teaching me the craft of making Nigirizushi, Tamago, and Gunkan sushi! The ingredients were good quality and everything was pre prepared to make the class as friendly as possible. The highlight for me were the great chats and laughs we had on the class and the certificate we got after was the “Cherry on top”! This class is very good for first time visitors or even people who have some base knowledge of Japanese. Both the hosts were able to talk clearly and fully in both! Thank you so much Toshiki and Hana, you guys ROCK! Nga Mihi e te Whanau! Chur from the bro from Aotearoa (New Zealand).
I felt that both instructors were passionate and had a sense of mission to promote Japanese culture. Finally, eating my own handmade creation for dinner was very satisfying, and I even received a certificate. The certificate was thoughtfully designed, using the phonetic translation of the student's English name into Chinese characters, and then writing the meaning of those characters in English, which showed great sincerity.
This was my first time traveling to Japan, so I signed up for the opportunity to learn about the most famous sushi in Japan. When I actually took the class, the instructor taught me in detail what parts to pay attention to for each type of sushi, so I was able to follow along and make it easily! It was my first time making sushi, so I thought it would be difficult, but the instructor explained it in an easy way, so I was able to follow along well, and I liked that he watched me make the process, so I could correct any mistakes I needed to make. The instructors' kindness made the class enjoyable, and I think it will be the most meaningful time for me to gain knowledge about sushi and good memories. I would like to express my gratitude through this review!
This was a super fun activity for our large group and we really enjoyed our time learning, making and eating our sushi. Our hosts Mika and Shiori made us laugh a lot and made the overall learning experience really enjoyable. I was surprised how full I was after eating all the food. I am confident we are now sushi masters!
We had a fantastic time making sushi with Toshiki and Mika. They were so friendly and informative. We were pleased with our sushi! Would not hesitate to recommend this great business.
This was such a fun activity to do, and I high recommend doing it at this location! Not only was the sushi making itself fun, but the 2 people hosting the event (Hana and Yumiko) did an outstanding job of helping us and they were very friendly. After making (and eating) the delicious sushi we received a personalized sushi making certificate with a handwritten Japanese translation of our namen. We even received a printout of ama photo they took of us with the made sushi, a handwritten thank you note from Hana and Yumiko, and a note with their favorite restaurants because we discussed that during the class. Definitely a 5/5 experience, and great for couples, friend groups and families!
We were super lucky and got a class to ourselves. The staff were excellent and very friendly. We made 12 pieces of sushi which was in my opinion good value. All together an amazing and worthwhile experience
Very nice people who serve you! Hana and Toshiki are excellent hosts! They explain perfectly how to make sushi and answer all questions with great patience! The best place to learn how to make sushi! Highly recommended!
A great hands-on experience for our family! Mako and the team were brilliant and gave us some expert Sushi making tips. We may be biased, but our Sushi looked professional 😜
