Jakarta: Local Street Food Tour with MRT Transportation

I had a delicious time on the Jakarta Street Food Scene with MRT Transportation. First of all, I was interested in experiencing the MRT. it was very modern, clean, safe, and easy to use with the help of Nabila, my guide. Nabila, and her assistant Bintang, took me to Blok M Square. The number of street food vendors and different types of food there was amazing. Both Nabila and Bintang explained to me how each food was prepared and how it would taste. They both know a lot about the various food that were available. There were so many delicious options to choose from. Based on their recommendations i chosed a large sampling to include: chicken satay with peanut sauce, sate padang, a really delicious hot ginger drink called STMJ (I suggest everyone trys this), avocado smoothy, lontar fruit. and an egg omelet called kerak telor. it was both a food educational and tummy filling experience. Both Nabila and Bintang spoke great English, so communicating was not an issue. it was well worth the cost and I strongly recommend it.

Booked a join-in tour but turned out I was the only one. Elyse was really nice and friendly. She explained the food, culture, and history of Jakarta really well. Also loved her food recommendations. I had a really great time.

Touring with Leoni felt like exploring the city with a close friend. She is incredibly sweet and has a gift for sharing Indonesia’s rich history, culture, and arts without it ever feeling overwhelming or like a lecture. I truly learned so much and felt so comfortable the entire time. I’d love to book her again on my next trip!

Even though it rained during the tour, I still had a really fun and memorable experience. It was supposed to be a walking tour, and while the rain made things a bit challenging—especially since our guide didn’t have an umbrella—we still pushed through and made the most of it. The rain wasn’t expected at all since it was so hot earlier in the day. One of the best parts was riding the train. It was smooth, clean, and well-maintained. On the tour, I met a fellow Filipino BTS fan who was also in Jakarta for the concert. It was comforting and exciting to speak my own language with someone abroad. We also tried chicken and lamb sate, which were both delicious. I ordered half a serving of rice but wished I had more! Our guide was helpful and adjusted food recommendations based on our preference for little to no spice, which I appreciated a lot. The rain got heavier later on, so we decided to end early to avoid getting sick. We finished with putu, which was okay. Despite the weather, I had a great time. I wouldn’t have done this alone as a solo traveler, but the guide made me feel safe and welcome

They are so accomodating and happy accompany. They're very patient with us even though we are so loud, they even let us to buy in the indomart for the diaper of my baby. They're kind and easy to get along. Highly recommended. ✨❤️
