Reviews
We kick off the day early at Tokyo Station. First stop, Izu Fruit Park, where we get to pick and enjoy super fresh and sweet strawberries. Next, we take a peaceful stroll through a bamboo forest, soaking in the calm vibes and beautiful scenery. Then, it’s off to Shuzenji Temple, a historic and cultural hidden gem in the heart of the Izu Peninsula. Finally, we wrap up the day at the stunning Kawazu River, where the early blooming cherry blossoms was so amazing.
It is easy to find the meeting point which is at North exit of Tokyo Station. We are quite lucky that the Sakura at Kawazu is fully bloom although it is raining, we can still enjoy the Sakura. The Strawberry picking at Izu is also very satisfying, all you can eat and pick!
There is an early bird price which is very friendly, and you can choose the language which makes the trip feel at ease (it turns out that almost all the group members speak Chinese haha). The instructions for the meeting point are very clear, and the guide's instructions and answers to questions are also in place. The itinerary is really good, the strawberries 🍓 are very big and sweet, it's better to say that you go directly to the shed to eat them than to pick them hahaha. The time for the hot spring is a bit tight, but it's still very good to be able to give you an itinerary where you can soak in it, and relax and refresh yourself. The highlight at the end, the flowers bloomed very well, and the weather was also very good, and it felt like everything was worth it. I chose to join the tour because it was cheaper than taking the railway by myself. It is indeed a richer and more worry-free itinerary. There was also a traffic jam when returning to Tokyo on the day when the flowers were in full bloom, and it took six hours to drive back... The driver and tour guide worked hard, and it was still very satisfactory overall. This is the first time I have signed up for such a small local tour, and I may be willing to take itineraries to other places in the future.
Fantastic tour with our guide Carter Sasaki! It was wonderful being able to see the Kawazu Sakura in full bloom, and tasty strawberries 🍓 Highly recommended!
the tour guide, carter sasaki was really passionate and friendly. although the itenerary was rushed and we didnt get to spend alot of time at each destination, his enthusiasm and positivity made the trip alot better. itinerary wise, removing one activity would be better.
Thank you to our tour guide Nakajima Yong for his patience and interesting explanation. Although the trip was delayed for almost 2 hours due to the breakdown of Japan ETC, the beautiful scenery along the way and the guide's patient company with us, explaining the local customs and folkways of Shuzenji Temple and the geography and culture of Omuroyama, as well as the happy strawberry 🍓 all-you-can-eat, I am still very grateful for this trip and feel it is worthwhile to participate.
03-02 Sunday, all the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The outbound trip was basically smooth. I could eat as much strawberries as I wanted. After 15 minutes, I couldn't eat anymore😂. The strawberries I ate🍓 would cost 200-300 yuan if I bought them at a convenience store. The Izu coastal highway is good. When I got to Kawazu, I found that all the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. It was very beautiful. The return trip was too congested. The road was two-lane. It took 6 hours to get to Tokyo. The Chinese tour guide explained the whole journey. The ticket price was worth it. It was worth the trip.
Excited to pick big & juicy strawberries, enjoyed a not so crowded onsen at hotel and took a stroll in quaint town. Many in the group were disappointed that Sakura petals had mostly dropped after a whole day of rain, hence couldn't see an entire row of pink at the river. Friendly guide Ouyang gave off positive vibes and driver was flexible to find route to avoid jams! On the bus, we caught clear sights of Mt Fuji to and fro. Managed ur expectation as the places of interest stated are options, not all will be covered in each trip.
Carter Sasaki was great! Best guide ever! He’s so funny and positive and kind :) He brought us to all the locations safely and the tour was a good pace. The cherry blossom area is so beautiful!
Led by our tour guide Carter Sasaki, we ate strawberries, saw Kawazu Sakura, and finally went to Shuzenji Temple. It's still a long drive from Tokyo Station to Izu, and the round trip may take about 4.5 hours. The weather today is particularly good, and it's a day with wonderful memories.
