It was our first time to participate in a Klook one-day tour. The tour guide was very responsible and managed the time well, allowing us to have a pleasant trip to the beautiful mountain and snow lantern corridor.
Many travel agencies' Miyama Town itineraries meet at the same location at Kyoto Station, so you have to ask to avoid getting the wrong group. It's a pity this time. After a long ride, I didn't see snow at my destination. The snow lantern making activity was also cancelled. Fireworks were only held on weekends. The weather was not good that day. It was disappointing. I can only say that I was very unlucky. good.
This place was a dream with the snow cover. This winter is warmer than usual so it wasn’t snowing as much as before. We were so so lucky that it snowed heavily a few days prior to our trip and there was enough cover to last. It even snowed again on the day of our visit! It is such a huge pity for those who didn’t get to see it in the snow :-( Before reaching the thatched houses there were two short breaks at a souvenir shop and ice cream shop both of which were nice. Chen our guide also tried his best to explain and recommend activities/food to everyone onboard as well. Overall really recommend this!
is very unique of the place with traditional house roof. get to know the purpose of it to prevent heavy snow destroy the house.
A good experience, beautiful environment, and there will be more tourists because it is the Lighting Festival. It happened to be snowing. What a wonderful memory. I will go there again next time.
1. The map provided by Guide is very good. 2. The overall itinerary is too rushed. I hope the stay time can be increased. 3. The itinerary may be arranged to start earlier and be suitable for a short 30-minute hike in the national park area.
To be honest, before departure, I was attracted by a bunch of recommended beautiful photos and the snow scenery of the snow lantern gallery and igloo. It wasn’t until I went there in person that I discovered: First, there are not snow scenes to see every day. Second, there was no snow on the day of departure. , it rained wildly, and the climate was close to zero. It was not very enjoyable to be rained all the time. The pictures of the scenic spots were not good because of the cold wind and rain. My hands were so cold that they were shaking and I didn’t want to take pictures at all. Third, the milk of Miyama Town The ice cream has a strong milky taste and is not that delicious (maybe personal opinion). Fourth, there are not many restaurants in Miyama Town, but there are a lot of people, so you have to queue up. Half of the time is spent waiting in line for food, you don’t have to eat. , I went outside to enjoy the scenery and take photos, but when it was windy and rainy, I still had to go inside to keep warm and find food. Fifth, when entering Miyama Town, you have to walk on a mountain road ~ you have to walk on a mountain road ~ you have to walk on a mountain road. People who get motion sickness must pay attention to the above. This trip We spent fourteen days in Kyoto, and Miyama Town was ranked as the least worth visiting~
I am a Korean who participated in the tour. I couldn't find a Korean tour company, so I applied, and it was a really, really good experience. There were only four Koreans, but they gave explanations in English, which was great. Haha. It rained suddenly, and the guide worked hard to show me the way and even helped me buy an umbrella. thank you! Miyama was so wonderful and an unforgettable experience. I recommend it.
The ride takes about two hours, and the meeting point should be written clearly in advance. Otherwise, you will have to go around the building to find the site. You should explain how to make the snow lanterns, where to borrow tools, and where to build the snow lanterns. They are not just responsible for bringing them here. It seems that the tour guide is not really needed at the moment. It seems that tourists should know about the snow lanterns. I feel that his goal is to eat mochi personally.
This event can only be seen for one week a year. Joining a tour group saves transportation problems, and the temporary vendors are also fun! Friends who don’t want to drive themselves or can’t book accommodation should give priority to buying.
