Loved our stay at the Sandringham Hotel in Cardiff! Everyone we interacted with at the property was so helpful and kind, and really made us feel at home there. You can't beat the location since it's right there on St. Mary's, but it did get a little noisy on Saturday night. If you want a quieter evening, ask for a room at the back of the hotel (ours overlooked St. Mary's). This is a wonderfully functional hotel; it had everything we needed; we were hardly in our room except to sleep. It is not a luxury hotel, but it is clean and safe, and the price was perfect and was exactly what we were looking for. No lift, so if stairs aren't your thing, be forewarned. There was a sign on the stairs reminding us we burned 8 calories every time we walked up the two floors! :)

Very central location. Staff very polite and helpful, room very clean but definitely needs some modernisation.

The lady on the reception was very helpful (I think she may have been French?) she found timetable Information etc for us. There was a miscommunication over breakfast as I was told this would be available (at cost) but then was told no it wasn’t. Then told again it was! Hotel is very dated. Bed was a very small double and was super uncomfortable. But it was clean, as was the bathroom and room. Pillows need updating as they’re wafer thin. No need for scatter cushions/nets when they’re not the best quality. The guttering opposite could do with some attention before this causes an issue for the building. The hotel is ideally placed for the stadium and shopping centre/market. LOADS of places to eat and drink!! The castle is at the end of the street. For the bay, you can either walk 45mins, or number 6 bus from the bus station for around £3 per person or a taxi. Taxi’s varied in price!! Should be about £6!

Room generally ok. There was some chewing gum stuck to the wall by the bed. Otherwise good amenities, very friendly, good WiFi and helpful staff.

Very friendly and polite staff. Ideal location in the centre of Cardiff. Definitely stay again when we're in Cardiff.
