The Hilton NYC was a great place for an unexpected overnight stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was delightful and provided a great escape after a stressful day. There were issues with the elevators but guests were given access to the service elevators. Overall, a great stay!

Clean. Helpful staff. Great location. Would stay there again.

As a frequent guest at this Hilton, I’ve never left feeling as disappointed as I did this time. The standards have noticeably dropped. Our room lacked basic cleanliness—there were marks on the bedsheets and dirt in the sink. Worse, the elevators were a logistical nightmare. Staying on the 26th floor, we waited upwards of 20 minutes one morning just to get to the lobby, ultimately having to use the service elevator. At another point, the elevator panel literally told me that the floor I needed was "not currently available." While I understand there is an ongoing elevator upgrade pilot project, the real-world impact on guests is unacceptable and highly disruptive.

Location is perfect and the room was good, but we did have a few complaints. First, there are no coffee makers in the rooms, which is just crazy to me. Second, the walls are super thin and so our very noisy neighbors and people walking the halls at all hours woke us up at multiple times each night. Definitely not ideal when you’re exhausted from a busy day of exploring NYC. And then, the elevators were an issue, especially Sunday when we were trying to check out. We waited for over 45 minutes, even trying the service elevators that housekeeping staff suggested but eventually had to drag our large suitcases down 3 flights of stairs to try a different floor since someone mentioned that there were more elevators servicing the lower levels. Even then, we waited another 15 minutes or so and had to ride back up several floors and then stopping at every single floor on the way down, while jammed in the back of the service elevator with entirely too many other exasperated guests. I will not book this hotel again based on the elevator situation alone. There are too many other options in midtown.

I would recommend against staying here and we won’t be coming back. This hotel had so many hidden fees and charges that were not advertised when booking. when you check in, there is a $200 deposit charge and they have nearly $100 in fees that come out of this deposit, so you won’t get at least half of your deposit back even if you leave the room in the same condition you found it. this is very scammy in my opinion. the elevator service here is abysmal, there is construction going on and you should plan to wait several minutes for every single elevator. for how large this hotel is there should be 3x the amount of elevators they have operating. lastly, they charge you to store your luggage at the property before check in or after check out. this is just another way to get a few extra dollars out of every guest. not worth the price, there are other options in the area that are more hospitable.

Staff was kind, room comfortable. Dining and breakfast options were poor and always busy. Suggestions to make plans to seek dining outside.
