După ce am ajuns la punctul de observare a stelelor, personalul a rugat pe fiecare membru să se întindă pe un șezlong și ne-a dat o pătură groasă (temperatura era de doar câteva grade, foarte frig). Prima parte a fost să privim cu ochiul liber, iar personalul, în timp ce arăta spre cer cu un indicator astronomic cu laser, ne explica cunoștințe de astronomie. După ce am privit cu ochiul liber, am folosit telescoape astronomice 🔭 pentru a observa stelele. Erau două telescoape, iar majoritatea imaginilor din fotografii au fost făcute cu cel mic (mic, dar foarte puternic). Am văzut dungile lui Jupiter, marea de stele a Căii Lactee, un prim-plan delicat al Lunii și punctele de stele din jurul Crucii Sudului, printre altele, și am fost cu adevărat emoționat până la lacrimi. Să le vezi pe viu este de nenumărate ori mai frumos decât în fotografii, pentru că simți că sunt vii, că se mișcă, că înfloresc ⭐
Pe parcurs, personalul ne-a oferit fiecăruia o cană de ciocolată caldă și a făcut fotografii fiecărui membru, iar la final ne-am adunat în jurul unui foc de tabără pentru a prăji bezele 🍡. Am încheiat călătoria mea de observare a stelelor pe deplin mulțumit ~ 🤗

Director Andy was humorous and patient, which added a lot of fun to the experience. The entire activity was very educational, especially suitable for those with no prior knowledge of celestial bodies. There were down jackets available in various sizes for loan, so there was no need to worry about being cold, and they were all very clean. The only two downsides were that you couldn't lie down to stargaze, only stand and look up; and even with the super telescope, you could only see tiny glowing dots. However, overall, it was a very enjoyable experience, and we were also very lucky to see a bit of the aurora and even capture some photos.

The guide to the star gazing was very professional and he explained it very clearly while gazing the stars. We were fortunate that the night sky was very clear where we could see the stars without any cloud blocking.

This was an amazing experience. Andy was a great guide and tour operator - he shared a lot of historical facts about New Zealand and Mt Cook (Aoraki). He gave us recommendations on which walking trails to do, had a nice time management - it was a long ride but was very comfortable and insightful. The views of Lake Pukaki and Aoraki and around is stunning, it is all worth the day trip.

We booked a Queenstown to Christchurch transfer tour for June 26th. From the start, communication was seamless; the reception team quickly answered all pre-trip questions and sent helpful safety reminders. Everything was perfectly well-prepared.
The driving was exceptionally safe. Our morning guide was high-energy, sharing great local stories. The guides clearly love their jobs and the NZ landscape, taking us to secret viewpoints with plenty of photo time. Their boss even called ahead during the trip to check road conditions after recent snow—a thoughtful touch.
They also saved our day at Mt Cook by providing ice spikes when we realized our running shoes weren't enough, alongside water and snacks. The transition to the next leg was seamless. The lady who took over was highly responsible, ensuring we forgot nothing and waiting with us. Finally, our Christchurch driver safely dropped everyone off right at their respective hotels on time.

It was a super perfect day! The weather was fantastic! After turning onto the road to Mount Cook, all the clouds cleared, revealing a magnificent landscape of snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and lakes, like a fairyland. On the way back, the incredibly beautiful pink, purple, and blue sunset glow, reflecting off the pristine white snow mountains, left even us, who are used to Adelaide's pink and purple skies, in awe! We absolutely must give our driver and guide, a wonderful young lady, a five-star-plus review! She thoughtfully prepared snacks, wet wipes, and tissues, explained things softly and gently along the way, drove safely and smoothly, took us to restrooms that bypassed the queues at tourist spots, and even made a special stop on the return journey so we could gaze at the starry sky. For this, she extended our trip by an hour for free, bringing our Queenstown journey to a perfect close.

My family and I had a wonderful time throughout the 13 hour van ride from Christchurch to Queenstown. The cost of the tour is well worth it, since we were able to enjoy all the sights and stops we made. The snacks and lunch were also delicious and filling. Rosie picked us up from our hotel and took us to Lake Tekapo and Mt Cook, while Abbie drove us from Mt Cook to High Country Salmon Farm and then to our Queenstown accommodation. The ride itself felt comfortable and safe. There were 3 vacant seats in Rosie's van, while Abbie's was full with 16 people inside. This was a really fun way to get around. Will definitely recommend Cheeky Kiwi to friends and family!
