Although the shuttle bus frequency is relatively low, we took advantage of the time between exiting customs and boarding the bus to take a quick look around the domestic terminal. We booked a ride from the Westin back to the airport, but it turned out to be worth a day trip. The return journey was along the side of Lake Shikotsu, the weather was fantastic, and Mount Yotei was fully visible. The shadows of the trees, like an old film reel, were so beautiful that you didn't want to blink. It was so worth it.
