Passeios por Penghu Guanyin Temple

Everything was great, but it would be better if we could choose a flight package instead of only having the ferry option. We will be back to Penghu next time, but will choose to take a flight instead of a ferry.

Today we took the Haiyou 50. The downside of booking with Klook is that there's no free shuttle to the Nanhai Service Center, but the overall trip is still highly recommended. If you get seasick, remember to prepare motion sickness medication, a mask, and earphones beforehand. The photos are beautiful when the weather is good. On Dongji Island, I highly recommend renting a scooter. You can register and pay before boarding. It's too hot to walk in this weather, and it takes more time to visit places on foot. With a scooter, you can enjoy the breeze, and you won't be out of breath from walking. The optional snorkeling trip at Dongyuping doesn't have too many tourists, so I found the itinerary quite relaxing, and the coach was very meticulous and professional. The tour guide, Allen, was very witty and humorous.

To be honest, it's not cheap. The meeting time is around 7:30 AM, and the return trip is around 3:30 PM. The tour guide and driver in Qimei will introduce the scenery, but perhaps due to the large number of tours, they just say what needs to be said. The tour guide and driver in Wanan didn't even bother to introduce anything. The schedule is quite tight, but it's a good way to visit two islands in one day. The time is well-controlled, and you can't stay too long in particularly beautiful places. The entire group is roughly the size of a large tour bus, so everyone affects each other. This itinerary is suitable for quick sightseeing but not for leisurely appreciation. Then, on Wanan Island, the guide will lead you to a simple restaurant for a meal (additional cost), but there's also a FamilyMart convenience store nearby. After observing, I realized that if it's hot, you don't necessarily have to eat at the restaurant. Overall, the scenery is incredibly beautiful, and if you have limited time, this itinerary allows you to see the most beautiful sights.

We started with a cruise nearby, then headed to the Marine Ranch platform for dinner. The Marine Ranch offers all-you-can-eat grilled oysters and seafood congee, though the congee didn't have much in it, leaving me feeling a bit empty even after four bowls... Additionally, there was an à la carte service on the boat, but the dishes were quite expensive, which was a shame. You could fish for small squid in the sea from the boat, and if you caught one, the kitchen could cook it for you on the spot. However, only one person on the entire boat managed to catch anything, so the chances were extremely low. On the platform, there was also recreational fishing (hookless, bait only) where you could try to catch cobia and cuttlefish, among others. Overall, the experience was pretty good!

I originally thought the boat was too big to get closer to see the fireworks, but during the shooting process, I found that this distance was actually just right. Of course, the bigger the boat, the longer it takes to return to the pier. However, being able to capture beautiful fireworks made it all worthwhile.

It's very convenient to have a bus for family outings – highly recommend snorkeling in Qimei, the purple coral reefs are absolutely comparable to those abroad! My mom was very nervous at first, but the snorkeling activity is beginner-friendly; you don't need to go too far from the shore to see beautiful corals and fish, which is very worthwhile. Each attraction has enough time allocated, so the overall trip doesn't feel rushed.

The service staff were all very polite, enthusiastic, and friendly. The tour guide's explanations were very detailed. It's recommended to rent a scooter to fully explore Dongjiyu and Qimei Island. This time, it was high tide, and the Twin Hearts Stone Weir was submerged, so I hope to visit again next time. The abalone noodles in Qimei were delicious, and the grilled abalone at the Twin Hearts Stone Weir was also very tasty.

We only made it halfway to Tongpan before turning back because it was too hot. Hujing Island must be a sheep island, right? 😂 There were more sheep than cats on the island. Before coming this time, I specifically bought a lot of cat treats on the main island to pet cats, but there weren't many cats, and I don't know if they were all hiding because it was too hot.
