Coisas para fazer em Taiping Mountain

We went at the end of October, so it was misty and rainy, which can be somewhat troublesome. It was 12 degrees, so do wear thicker clothing! Because it was so misty, it felt like we were in a Japanese mountain from a movie. We managed to go to the hot spring (around 25-30 minutes) and cook corn and eggs! I recommend bringing a swimming cap, slippers, and swimwear for the hot spring! It would also be good to bring your own bread to go along with the corn and egg, although they do sell Ba Zhang (and some basic burger buns over there). Our driver, Qisong, is very friendly and helpful, with excellent driving skills! Oh, I really liked the Bong Bong train too! Please note that for the Bong Bong, you'll have to go up a staircase. I saw some older visitors struggling but managing to climb it. It might not be suitable for people with difficulty climbing.

Tickets for Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area are NT$200 if purchased on-site, so it's definitely more cost-effective to buy them in advance! We highly recommend purchasing them beforehand.

Beautiful scenery ~ lush greenery ~ many trails are easy to walk, the Bong Bong Train tickets sell out quickly so arrive early to buy them ~ the autumn maple leaves will be even more beautiful

The weather was good at the foot of the mountain, but I forgot that the weather changes drastically on the mountain. Remember to always carry a light raincoat with you, regardless of the weather. The hemlock forest was beautiful, but unfortunately, the rain was so heavy and the mud was so difficult to walk through in the latter half that I gave up. I'll try again next time.

Experience: From the ticket office at the entrance of Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area to Taipingshan Villa, the drive is about 22km and takes approximately 40 minutes. Please plan your visit time accordingly. After 3 PM, when dense fog often rolls in, visibility on the road ahead can be severely limited. You may only be able to see the center line and will need to drive slowly at around 25 km/h until you reach the central service station where the fog usually dissipates. There are 7 consecutive hairpin turns along the way, so please drive with extra caution.

Tickets were issued quickly, and 6 people in 2 cars entered the park smoothly. Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area is huge. There's a free shuttle bus service from Taipingshan Villa to the parking lot and to the entrance of Jiancing Historic Trail, which is very convenient and highly recommended!

I am amazed by this place and its resemblance to Japanese culture. The nature mesmerized me and made me feel so calm and in love with this place.
