Passeios por Chimei Museum

The Japanese tour was changed to a Chinese tour the day before due to a small number of participants, but fortunately, there was one other person, and the guide was very attentive, which was a great help (they also spoke English). We were able to visit historical buildings and places in Taichung and enjoyed the scenery along the way. The Chimei Museum, which we visited last, was overwhelmingly impressive, with so much to see that we couldn't possibly take it all in within the allotted time. This tour included places (and a route) that I would never have thought of myself, so I'm glad I participated.

Charlie Lee is a professional tour guide. He is proficient in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese. In addition, he has profound knowledge of history, religion, and even philosophy. He was very patient with my three naughty boys. He not only explained the history behind every cultural site in great detail, but he also helped look after my kids, paying attention to their safety. The tour guide was incredibly professional and friendly, providing very detailed explanations. Besides explaining the nuances of worshipping Yue Lao, they also delved into the historical and cultural background, and even offered explanations for historical sites we passed by. They are a truly dedicated guide. I highly recommend everyone to participate in this activity! Especially for those interested in Taiwan's temple culture, you should definitely join!

On July 8, 2026, I had a fabulous KLOOK trip to Yehliu Geopark, Jiufen Old Town, a waterfall, and the Shifen Sky Lantern experience! Our guide (Richard) was great, sharing his knowledge of Taiwan and the areas we visited, and recommending the best shops to purchase teas, pineapple cake, pork noodle soup, and Taiwanese sausage – which was very helpful. Richard did a great job keeping us on time so everyone had a great time. The bus was clean and had air conditioning, which was helpful in the summer heat. I personally enjoyed launching the Sky Lantern – wow! What a joy! It was like that scene in Disney’s “Tangled”: seeing many lanterns in the sky. I strongly recommend this tour, and I would take it again! Thanks, Richard, for your awesome recommendations!
