Hongcun presents a picturesque village reflected on the water's surface, while Xidi's cobblestone streets and horse-head walls create quietly deepening shadows. The contrasting beauty of Hongcun's open waters and Xidi's substantial alleys lends a rich expressiveness to the landscape at the foot of Mount Huangshan.

The first thing that caught my eye was a sea of clouds stretching out like a vast ocean. White waves enveloped the mountains, with only the peaks floating like islands. Its tranquility made me completely forget the hustle and bustle of the city. The guide made the ropeway a round trip, making it a private 1:1 tour, which was perfect. I was recommended to take the Saikai Ropeway, and the scenery was incredibly beautiful. Although the round trip costs 200 yuan, which is a bit expensive, I highly recommend it.

Huangshan is not a single mountain you climb to a peak. It is a vast, ethereal world of granite. Imagine colossal pillars, twisted pines clinging defiantly to rock faces, and clouds that don't float above you but flow through the valleys below, dissolving and reforming in minutes. A day trip would be a frantic, exhausting tease. Staying overnight lets you experience the magical sunrise/sunset and explore at a better pace.
