Avaliações
The value for money is excellent, especially considering the long journey from Nagoya to reach these three attractions. The tour guide was proficient in English, Japanese, and Mandarin, so there were no language barriers throughout the trip. Without participating in this local one-day tour, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to visit Gujo Hachiman Castle.
The girl tour guide is very accommodating. Although the tour is very compressed, we didn’t go to the view deck in Shirakawa because our time was limited. We had lunch at Takayama at our own expense, tried Hida beef, and ate more. The tour in Gujo Hachiman is not recommended. It is only okay for people who want to hike to the castle. Shirakawa-go is a cute place, but going there on a group tour is not recommended because you will only stay there for 1-2 hours, including the time for bus parking. Overall, it’s a quick and hassle-free tour.
The tour is super worth it, though there is a little time to explore Shirakawa-go since this is just a day tour. But thank you for this!
Unfortunately, this was a holiday weekend, so every sight was overcrowded, and we had to endure heavy traffic. I believe the itinerary should have started with the endpoint: Shirakawago, because we got there at 4:30 PM due to heavy traffic and only had a few minutes of daylight. I regret not taking a cheaper tour that focused on only two sights. Takayama was also too crowded, and thank goodness we decided to visit the temples by chance because they were empty. The guide didn't have good recommendations but was a sweet lady who just gave us time instructions.
The tour is exactly as described in the details. The guide was very friendly and helpful. If you want to explore more of the cities, I suggest taking a private transfer to the province because the tour has time restrictions.
Shirakawago deserves to be a UNESCO World Heritage site. It's one of a kind. The ride on the way there was so scenic. The Gujo Hachiman town was also nice. Their canals with fishes is amazing. Takayama with the old houses and shops transport you to the old Japan.
Overall, highly recommend the experience. The meet-up point was easy to find and we went to all the locations listed. The guide wasn't that fluent in English but tried his best and went above and beyond helping guests take photos and looking for them when they were late in returning back to the bus. At the first location in Hachiman, guests are given the choice between sticking with the group and looking at the different bridges in the city on a walking tour with the guide or going on their own to the castle. I regret not going to the castle. The walk was fine but it felt less rewarding as some time was spent waiting for others in the group to take photos. The drive to each location was okay and the bus was comfortable. One thing that would be very helpful to do is researching ahead for the different locations so you can get the most out of your experience as the guide doesn't give much direction on where to go or what to eat. Personally really enjoyed it and thought it was very worth the price paid.
A fantastic trip! Even though it was raining throughout the day, we had a lovely time. The laneways, bridges and villages were just beautiful. Would’ve loved a bit more time in Shirakawa-go!
The tour schedule was well-arranged, and the guide provided excellent commentary in Chinese, English, and Japanese. I would definitely participate in another activity next time.
Quite satisfied with this tour, even though it was a bit more expensive than other tours with the same route and facilities. The journey went smoothly and very efficiently.
