I had a great time making lanterns with this family in Vietnam. They were super friendly, clearly love what they do, and are really good at it. They made the whole process easy and fun, even for beginners. It was a cool way to learn something new and be part of a local tradition. Definitely a highlight of the trip! Word of advice: Choose the full class. You get to make your lantern from its basic parts and it really doesn't take that much more time. Else, you will just be sticking the fabric on the frame.

It was an amazing and knowledgeable lantern making experience. Teaching staff were friendly and very patient. They monitored every step we made to make sure we could handle and helped fine-tune them a bit so our lanterns look nice. I specially thanked the staff were caring and patiently guiding my 4 years old girl to make the lantern. We also learned the names of different lanterns in Hoi An. The lanterns are foldable, so it is no worry to bring them home in suitcase.

This is a fantastic activity that my whole family agreed was so much fun. Even if you have no craft skills, you'll go home with a pretty professional-looking lantern. They help you through the entire process. We booked the 9 am session, which I recommend because the activity is quite popular. By midday, there was already a line outside full of people waiting to come in and walk-ins. The lantern folds flat and fits in your luggage, and then you can pop it open again. We did the full lesson, which took us a little over 2 hours. I assume if you book later in the day when it's busier, it might take longer as you wait for the teachers to check your progress.

L'expérience est un incontournable à Hoi An, nous pouvons vraiment créer votre lanterne à partir de zéro et ils vous guideront à chaque étape tout en s'assurant qu'elle est bien faite afin que votre lanterne soit magnifique à la fin et que vous puissiez choisir le design mais aussi le tissu que vous voulez ! J'ai adoré l'ambiance familiale de la boutique aussi !! Je recommande vivement

I had an absolutely fantastic time at the Tieng Vong Pho Lantern Making Class! I chose the option to create a lantern from scratch, starting with the frame and finishing with the fabric, and it was such an enjoyable and rewarding experience. The team was incredible—friendly, funny, and extremely knowledgeable. They shared fascinating insights about the history of lanterns, gave clear and helpful instructions, and were always ready to assist whenever needed. The variety of fabrics to choose from was stunning, making it easy to create something truly personal. The workshop itself was a feast for the senses—vibrant and colorful, with relaxing music playing and tea served to make the experience even more special. I’m so proud of the beautiful lantern I made, which will be a cherished memento of my trip to Hoi An. I can’t recommend this class enough—it was fun, engaging, and a wonderful way to connect with local culture. Five stars all the way!

This was such an enjoyable experience! The staff were so lovely and helpful, and I couldn't believe the end result! Such a special thing to do in Hoi An!

It was a great class. I wasn’t sure that I wanted to do it but lanterns were looking so pretty in the whole town that I decided to opt for the class. Tam and her cousin were quite fun and helped us through the entire process amazingly. I would highly recommend this place for the express or full class of lantern making.

it was so much fun!!! it’s harder than it looks, There’s so much fabric to choose from too, I loved all the materials so it was hard to choose, the staff were super lovely and funny!!! I loved them!! there was always someone around to help. I’m glad I went took about 2 hours I’d say to put it together

The class was so much fun! Even though I joined on my own, there were other participants and multiple members of staff who made the experience super fun and engaging! The instructions were super easy to follow.
