From Sakuramachi Bus Terminal, board the bus using your voucher and travel to Hondo Bus Terminal. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours. Although the travel time is a bit long, the scenery along the Amakusa route is beautiful. At Hondo Bus Terminal, you will meet your local guide for a tour of Amakusa's World Cultural Heritage sites. Please note that the guide will provide explanations entirely in Japanese, so those who do not understand Japanese may find it challenging. The museum and the interpretive arrangements clearly show the local community's appreciation for this history, which is very moving. The sea and mountains of Amakusa are also incredibly beautiful, and with few tourists, it feels like a hidden gem.

The Guide Lady was very nice. And she always tried to get everything in English for me. It was a lovely day thanks to her 🥰

The journey from Kumamoto to Amakusa City takes approximately 2.5 hours. The bus seats were reasonably spacious and comfortable. Upon arrival, we transferred to another vehicle for lunch. Our tour guide, an auntie, made her best effort to explain everything in English and Japanese, showing great dedication. We mainly visited two churches and three to four museums. The museums were not large, but overall, it was worth the trip. Finally, before booking, be sure to check the museum's closing days.

The guide was very nice. Even though we were only two foreigners in the group, she still always took good care of us and made sure we enjoyed it (which we truly were). The place was nice and peaceful. Hope more people have a chance to visit this amazing place and admire the history.

The Amakusa sightseeing bus tour primarily visited two churches and three museums/archives. Although the exhibition halls were relatively small, the staff diligently introduced the collections. At the Sakitsu archives, a staff member was even specially arranged to provide a one-on-one introduction to us in English! In the Sakitsu village, we learned how Catholics secretly worshipped the Virgin Mary during the period of religious prohibition, and about the lives of the fishermen. It's definitely worth visiting! Especially to experience the warmth and hospitality of the small village. Oh, it's a bit of a shame that I couldn't fully understand what the tour guides were saying, but I could feel that the elderly tour guide was very dedicated and tried her best to introduce Amakusa. The bus also took us to see the beautiful sunset. I will definitely book this tour again! I highly recommend the Amakusa Sakitsu tour to anyone interested in Japan's history of religious prohibition, Catholicism, or village life! *\(^o^)/* However, please note that it takes 2 hours and 40 minutes by bus from Kumamoto to Amakusa Hondo (@_@;)

The introduction was very detailed. Although it was only in Japanese, they made an effort to explain in English. The route planning was excellent, making it very suitable for friends without a car.

You can learn about the historical background of the local Catholic faith, and the bus tour makes it convenient to visit various attractions with a Japanese-speaking guide.

The journey is long, and there will be one stop for passengers to use the restroom. The churches in Amakusa have their unique characteristics and history. The tour guide was very enthusiastic; I was the only foreigner in the group, but she translated for me into English. The weather wasn't great on the day we went, but I believe the coastal scenery would be even more beautiful if the weather were good. Lunch is at your own expense, and it was reasonably priced and delicious.

I went on a family trip and there were no reviews from Koreans, so I applied with some hesitation. Unlike other places, I wanted to hear explanations from a local guide. Even though I can't speak Japanese, I applied, and it turned out to be much better than I expected ㅠㅠ. I was touched by the guide's effort to communicate using a translator 🥺. Although I couldn't understand all the detailed explanations because they were in Japanese, the Korean paper they gave me helped supplement the information, haha. The travel time was 5 hours round trip, which was a bit tiring (especially because it rained a lot ㅠㅠ), but it was a fulfilling experience. Thank you!

Since we departed from Kumamoto Station, it took about 2 hours by bus to reach Hondo Bus Center, but we were able to enjoy some beautiful scenery. Michi-no-eki Kakashi no Sato (Scarecrow Village) was a fun place, with scarecrows that you could momentarily mistake for people, engaged in farm work or attending classes. I was reminded of the arrival of Christianity and the hidden Christians, topics I learned about in textbooks during my school days. Our guide provided clear explanations using hand-drawn diagrams. I'm glad I participated in this tour.
