Maerim Elephant Home Chiang Mai

Für mich war diese Tour die erste Gelegenheit, Elefanten aus der Nähe zu sehen. Bei der Ankunft erhält man traditionelle Kleidung und eine Einweisung zu den Tieren. Zuerst sind diese großen Tiere einschüchternd, besonders wenn man gebeten wird, näher an sie heranzugehen, aber nachdem man einige Zeit mit den Elefanten verbracht hat, wird sich das legen. Die Elefanten wirken immer sehr entspannt und freundlich, und die jungen Mahouts schienen gut auf die Tiere eingespielt zu sein. Man geht mit den Tieren spazieren und hat auch die Möglichkeit, sie im Fluss zu waschen, oder sie baden und entspannen sich, während man sie in Ruhe beobachtet. Mein Lieblingsteil war es, die Elefanten aus der Ferne beim Fressen und Baden zu beobachten. Einige der erzwungenen Fotos und das Fußbad gefielen mir nicht so gut. Insgesamt war es für mich eine sehr interessante Erfahrung, und ich kann einen Besuch empfehlen, besonders wenn man den Wunsch hat, Elefanten hautnah zu erleben.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the tour. We had so much fun with the elephants, and the tour guide spoke English very well and was very friendly.

This time, we brought our nearly two-year-old and four-year-old children to participate. First, they introduced precautions and simple knowledge, then fed sugarcane and washed the elephants' feet. After that, we walked a short distance to the river to bathe the elephants. The walk was not far, easy enough for children to complete on their own. The river water was very cool and being with the elephants was very therapeutic. The staff were helpful in taking photos, which was convenient. Finally, Thai fried noodles, fruit, and bottled water were provided. The entire activity took about two hours, plus a half-hour drive from the city, making it very suitable for young children to experience.

Safety: There are many staff members looking after guests within the park. Location: It's super convenient to take a taxi to and from Tucheng District (about 20 minutes)! Coaches: They provide explanations in English and are all very dedicated. Experience: Very novel! Facilities: They are quite basic, but that's part of their original charm!

This tour is highly recommended for elephant lovers, as you can observe elephants up close! The tour sequence was a brief lecture about elephants, polishing their front claws, feeding them, taking commemorative photos with the elephants, a walk to the river, and then washing them in the river. Most participants in the tour I joined were Westerners, and I was the only Asian. Although I participated alone, the staff kindly took many photos of me with the elephants, which was very helpful. All the staff were kind, and their English was easy to understand. The facility has small lockers with keys for valuables and luggage. You don't need to bring a red jacket, pocketed pants, a hat, or sandals, as they are available for rent. It's a good idea to put your smartphone in a waterproof case, as elephants might suddenly spray water. Insect repellent is essential as you walk through the forest. For meals, I had Pad Thai (delicious but quite a large portion), coconut juice, and bottled mineral water. The river might seem dirty, but since it's a unique opportunity, I recommend joining in and helping wash the elephants! The facility has simple showers, so if you're concerned, you can take a shower on your way back. If you plan to use the shower, it might be a good idea to bring your own towel. Regarding transportation, I used Grab for a round trip from the city. Since the facility is outside the city, it was difficult to find a car for the return journey, and I waited for about 15 minutes. The only downside was that there was no announcement on how to purchase the photos taken by the staff... But overall, it was a fun and wonderful memory of Chiang Mai!!

You can travel round trip for 800 baht by Bolt (for 6 people). It's not far from the city, so it's easy to get a Bolt! The program was so enriching, and they took great photos, especially considering we were a group. My parents initially thought it wouldn't be great, but they ended up loving the unique experience. And the Pad Thai was delicious, haha! Thank you, Tony Guide!! + I recommend buying the photos they sell there; they take good portrait-mode pictures!

It was a very meaningful day. There were about 10 participants from Germany, China, Mexico, and Japan. We changed into mahout clothes, learned about elephant ecology and commands, and helped with feeding, foot care, and bathing. There are lockers with keys for valuables. If you give your smartphone to the mahouts, they will take many photos for you. I had prepared a waterproof case fearing water damage, but it wasn't necessary. However, there is a risk of dropping it during bathing, so if you are concerned, I think it's better to have a waterproof case. Many photos are taken on-site and sold for 400 baht. You can easily wash off dirt with a cold shower, and towels are provided. You also get cold water. After changing, pad thai and fruit are served. It requires a fair amount of physical effort, so it was delicious. Since it's a local meeting and local dismissal, I think it's better to secure transportation for the round trip. I participated at the end of October and was not bitten by mosquitoes.

This place is not far from the city, which is very convenient. You need to go there by yourself as there's no pick-up service. The elephants are all very cute, and the staff treat them very well. I recommend everyone to come here; it's much better than other remote places.

很棒的体验。距离市区只有30分钟。导游很投入。2小时刚刚好，再长就会太累了。这次体验对孩子和老人来说都非常有趣，因为你可以和大象一起散步并给它们洗澡。唯一的缺点是拍照太多，而且要等导游和每一位游客拍照。最后，你可以购买照片链接。我们不需要购买，因为我们自己拍了，你可以看到导游的脸色变了。尽管如此，导游全程都很投入，这是一次物有所值的体验。

The elephant camp provides a change of clothes, toilets with showers, and lunch. The guides were also very attentive and patient, allowing us to have a wonderful morning.
