The Nerikiri experience was very nice, where we had the pleasure of learning about different Japanese wagashi (sweets) and actually made some. It wasn't that hard, but it required precision I would say. Also we really enjoyed learning about how the Japanese drink their tea and is the proper manner, so if you're a matcha lover, I'd definitely recommend trying this one ❤️ Thank you for the beautiful experience!
The teacher was so kind and welcoming, making sure to explain in English for the few foreign participants. I learned so much about the tea ceremony and enjoyed making beautiful wagashi. A calm, authentic, and memorable experience — definitely a must-try in Japan!
We attended the Tea Ceremony Ohigashi and Nerikiri for S$35.79. At first there were only 3 of us for the Ohigashi making. Then a big group of students came and joined us for the making of Nerikiri and they left. For the tea ceremony, 2 others joined us. In total, the class lasted about 2 hours with some waiting time in between. It was a fun activity to do besides sightseeing.
A truly great day, the welcome was very pleasant, the hosts were smiling and attentive. Despite a small misunderstanding (we had booked for three activities, and we almost had to leave after only one was done), everything went well and the hosts apologized profusely. We loved this morning and learned a lot. We were alone for the wagashi, and for the tea ceremony there were many more people, mostly Japanese. It is easy to find the building.
I recently attended a Japanese tea ceremony class with ohigashi and nerikiri making, and I can’t recommend it enough—it’s a full 5-star experience! The sensei, who is Japanese, was absolutely wonderful. Even though I can speak a little Japanese myself, she made sure to accommodate me, explaining everything clearly and with so much patience. You could tell she really wanted everyone to feel comfortable and understand the beauty behind the tea ceremony. Her kindness and gentle teaching style made the whole experience feel so special and welcoming. Learning how to make ohigashi and nerikiri was an absolute joy. The sensei took her time to show us every step, and she encouraged everyone to get creative while making these delicate sweets. I loved that she was always there to help and made sure we were having fun along the way. The entire class felt relaxed, and I appreciated how unhurried everything was.
I took the package to make 2 different sweets and tea ceremony. The instructor was very friendly, helpful and provided a lot of information on the makings. The sweets and tea were delicious.
A truly unique and authentic experience! The tea ceremony was meticulously prepared, with clear and engaging explanations that help you understand the deep meaning behind each gesture. The atmosphere was relaxing and traditional, perfect for immersing oneself in Japanese culture. The part dedicated to preparing Nerikiri sweets was equally interesting: guided step by step, we managed to create small masterpieces, beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. It's surprising how much precision and delicacy it takes! The people who accompanied us were very kind and helpful, making the experience even more special. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience something authentic and different from typical tourism. 🍵✨
I booked this on a whim, but I'm glad I did. It was a fairly large class (in a classroom style), but the instructor was so sweet and encouraging. She guided all of us through our sweet creations and praised everyone for their efforts. It was also super interesting to learn about the historical elements and traditions of the tea ceremony!
Sehr schöne Veranstaltung und perfekter Gastgeber. Die Zubereitung von Süßigkeiten und Tee wurde detailliert erklärt. Besonders interessant war die Verwendung traditioneller Werkzeuge.
