We were able to watch the production process and taste authentic local flavors. In Giethoorn, we took a canal boat ride. The weather that day was excellent, and the picturesque rural scenery along the way, reflected in the water, was very charming. Our guide, Suri, personally piloted the boat, and we also had the opportunity to try steering it ourselves, which was a very memorable experience. Whether it's the traditional windmills and crafts or the beautiful scenery of the water village, both places showcase the unique characteristics of the Netherlands. The tour first stops at Afsluitdijk for 15 minutes to see the dam separating the sea from the lake. Coincidentally, the bridge opened for a boat to pass through that day, so there was a short wait. Upon arriving at Giethoorn, you first take an approximately one-hour boat tour. The guide on the boat meticulously explains the history and culture of Giethoorn. After the boat tour, you'll have about two and a half hours of free time to take photos in the village or visit the Giethoorn Museum (tickets require an additional fee). There are also many restaurants, snack shops, and souvenir stores in the village. The return bus departs promptly at 5 PM and arrives back at Amsterdam Central Station around 6:30 PM. The buildings in Giethoorn each have their unique charm, making for a relaxing and pleasant stroll.
