Kai was very accommodating throughout the trip. Enough time is given to explore the King and Queen temple, as well as Wachirathan Waterfall. If you are a fan of nature trips, this is one of the itineraries you must book.
Our tour guide was very helpful throughout the trip. I even learned about some local plants from him. The village is a must-visit place, nestled amidst rice fields and stunning waterfalls. The coffee and herbal teas offered by the locals were particularly excellent.
We trekked at Kew Mae Pan nature trail instead. It's a pity that it rained the night before, hence the observation deck was kind of foggy. But it managed to clear up a bit. It can get quite cold, so do bring along a jacket.
This was quite a good tour! I was slightly concerned because I didn't hear anything from the tour company after booking on Klook. On the day itself, the van arrived at around 7.35am but I understand that this was because this was a group tour and it is stated that pickup could be early or late. The tour guide was friendly, polite and conscientious, doubling up as the driver as well. He always offered to help us take photographs. The sights were great too - tip: wear a poncho for the first waterfall as the water really sprays everywhere, and opt for the trekking option (about 2h to 2.5h), otherwise you might have to wait at the coffee shop at the end for the rest of your group to complete trekking. Would recommend! downside: van was a little old and there were no usb charging ports.
Great experience! The tour agency contacted me about pick-up details immediately after booking via Klook. The tour guide, Zuzy, was also very informative and hilarious. Hot Tip: Especially in the rainy season and winter months, the temperature of the mountain can go down to -4 to 15 degrees. So bring a sweater & raincoat!
The tour guide and driver were both very friendly. Before reaching the national park, we stopped at a rest area. The guide also reminded everyone to buy some snacks in case they got hungry during the hike. Our itinerary was waterfalls - trail - coffee - lunch - Twin Towers - market, and then back. Due to the rain, some sections of the trail were very muddy and slippery, so grabbing a hiking pole at the trail entrance would be a great help. Lunch was a simple meal, but it tasted good, and you could have refills if you wanted more. It was a pity that the weather was bad, and we could barely see anything at the Twin Towers. Also, because of the higher altitude, it's important to dress warmly to avoid catching a cold. On the way back, you could choose to return to your accommodation or another place, which was quite thoughtful.
This package tour is good and affordable, especially if you travel alone. You can save a lot because the tourist spots in Chiang Mai are a bit distant from each other. Our tour guide is very hospitable and kind. It felt like we rented the van privately because there were only three of us in one van. We traveled comfortably. The free lunch in the local village was good.
We started by visiting Thailand's largest waterfall, where the powerful water misted us slightly. This was followed by a two-hour hike, mostly downhill and relatively easy, with several waterfalls and rice terraces as scenic spots along the way. Afterwards, we went to a coffee shop before having a meal at a local Karen village with our guide. In the afternoon, we visited Doi Inthanon (Thailand's highest point) for photos with the sign, and then proceeded to the Twin Pagodas. Unfortunately, the weather at the pagodas was bad, with strong winds and rain, so we quickly looked around and then sheltered in the visitor center until it was time to return. Finally, we passed through a local market where we could buy fruits and local products.
The Chinese-speaking tour guide was Thai, but their Chinese wasn't very fluent. Due to the changeable mountain climate, some parts of the trail were very slippery, and there were many mosquitoes. It's highly recommended to wear athletic shoes with good grip and spray plenty of mosquito repellent before hiking safely. The air in the mountains was very good, and we could even see the Hmong people's self-cultivated rice terraces. The set lunch, consisting of 3 dishes and 1 soup, was just passable. We were taken to a small market to browse, selling fruits, vegetables, and other food items, but nuts were noticeably much more expensive than at Warorot Market, unlike what online reviews had previously suggested about them being very cheap.
